It will be interesting to see how the lure of the single track affects you Dave.
I know someone who got a klr for mostly road riding and maybe just a smidgen of gravel riding.
Hmmm pity you are after a twin??

sorry i dont know jack about youtube encoding yet, couldnt be bothered getting something to compress it to a perfectly downloadble size for slow net D:?
anyone know of pure minimal encoding software? maybe something specifically for youtube type sites, especially because gopro HD should be here this week :!
this camera lets audio down alot imo :P, you can listen irl sometime ^_^, anywy its just for the weight reduction and help fcr out a bit, but yea, ur klr does sound like a thousand thunders ehehe
Tiger tiger burning bright....
I agree with your choice in bikes there Dave. If I was to get a couple of bikes one would be a Tiger (older), wee or similar & the other a DRZ or similar.
But for now I'll stick with Gonzo - It's certainly been good to me.
Ooops sorry DR thread... as you were
holy grunt machine, took for quick spin to parents place and back,
so much more off throttle grunt, first gear wheelie ez, even without tuned in, and its really hard to tell weither clutch slip or tyre slip because it happily does both, set clutch at home just now so, think it should be good tomorrow, just need to fold a plate holderrer rerer,
so i just need to tweak a couple things to get rid of slight off idle bog, rubber mount can, fold a plate holder up, and move a couple wires out of sight
oh and i lost my speedo magnet :\!!!, ill use some silver epoxy next time >_<
Hey all. Just brought a 2008 DR650 for $6,000
It's got 7,500km on the clock. All going well will put on a bigger tank, screen & some decent tyres. I hope the price was reasonable?
Hi DR guys
I am thinking of putting the bike on trademe this weekend. What do you think am I being realistic? This is the ad so far.
------------------------------------------
2006 DR650 Motard/Adventure
30000kms approx
WOF till July 2010
Rego till Jan 2010
This bike comes with 2 wheel set ups, Motard and Adventure.$6,900 the lot.
Adventure Bike with 3 sets of tyres. Full Knobs, Gravel tyres, Road tyres to suit the standard wheels.
Motard Bike with Slicks and also Road tyres(Dunlop GPR-a's)or 2 sets GPR-a if you dont want slicks.
All tyres in various states of wear.
Dynojet kit plus the original standard needle and jet.
Speedo shows 16,000km but probably has 10,000 more than that.
Never actually thrashed as these engines drop spark at 7,800 rpm.
Never been through rivers or sucked up much dust as has only done one adventure ride.
Has minor paint chips, a few scuffs on the plastics and a bent oil cooler that still works fine.
Both sets of wheels are fitted with disks and sprockets so it takes about 25 minutes to change from Adventure to motard wheels.
Comes with original handguards, service manual, spare levers, dynojet boxed jets, 2 gearing options. 14/43(fitted) and 15/43(original)
No objections to you getting a professional mechanical check. (Check at your cost, I will deliver to any shop in Dunedin).
Yes this bike has been raced but due to low revving understressed motor is not likely to be any more worn than any Adventure bike.
Will sell the bike seperately as standard Adventure bike for $5,700 and the Motard wheels for $1300 or whatever depending on the
tyres/wheels combo you want.
Please don't ask for just the wheels until the bike is sold as I know how much in demand these wheels are.
Reason for sale - not doing the Adventure riding I expected but heaps more racing than expected. Will consider swaps/trades for competition
bike preferably a motard.
