    Stebel Horn

Have any of you guys put a Stebel Magnum on your DR? If you did, how did it handle things? The odd dunking in a puddle etc?

any particular reason why not. The guff from the site suggests it is pretty much a straight swap for most bike horns. I figured if a DR could run heated hand grips - which I might consider for next winter - then surely they could handle a better horn than the asthmatic road runner meep meep currently supplied

The bike is up to it. The existing horn wiring isn't.

Well it wasn't on my bike.

I was only getting half the volume of connecting it straight to the battery.

Is it quite a mission to upgrade the wiring?

No problem to use the existing horn wiring to run a relay and wire the horn to the battery.

On the local site for stebel horns, the Nautilus comes with a relay but it says the magnum doesn't need one. What does the relay do?

More for use in the wild concrete jungle, my DR is also my daily commuter.
Still, I don't use a horn very much, try to ride in such a way that it is unnecessary

    Fuel Consumption

Been a while since I've seen one of these.

Rode 167 kms from fill to reserve today. Put 9.73 litres in and the odometer read 177kms at that point, so 18.1 kms per litre. Running Dynojet needle 4th clip from the top and 160 main jet. Haven't looked at the plug so cannot comment on colour.

I didn't really flog it but wondered if that was a good result or poor. My ZRX1200 does a little worse, but it does get pushed a bit more, legally of course

My son's DR650 also has the same setup but we haven't looked at consumption yet.
