You're right, that shouldn't work. I don't know how you navagate that website. Cheers for your help.

Oh well, I'm too late to get a sprocket for this weekend anyway, so I'll do some more research.

    IMS Tank

Thanks Nordie for the pointer and Zerax for the supply.

Fitted the tank and the bike now seems faster

Weird thing happened though, while working away I decided to move the clutch lever mount a tad so that the knob didn't wack the barkbuster alloy bar and as soon as it was moved in a bit, the switch wouldn't work. Took it apart to have a looksee then just decided to bypass it behind the headlight shroud as per earlier posts. Couldn't see any solder crack or breaks in the wires but what the hell.

The petcock on it has on/off/Reserve. Is that the IMS one or another? Has anyone ever drilled another hole in the mounting plate to allow the stock petcock to be mounted. Before you ask, I am sure I will never remember to turn off the gas every time so will end up relying on the needle and seat.

Mine has the stock tap fitted, looks like the hole was just filed a little longer. You also have to file a small notch into your top cylinder fin to prevent the two rubbing.

OK, thanks for the info. I'll have a look today.

Apart from brain engage, are there any tips for remembering the OFF on the tap, other than getting sick of draining the sump when you forget and the needle and seat fails?

    Cheers

I've only started turning mine to off whenever I get off the bike in the last few months.

The seals on the BST were good for the 90,000km it was on the bike.

Now I just forget to turn it back on and with the FCR there's no warning just a very sudden loss of power.

On the BST it'd be half a km down the road but with the FCR it's across the other side of town... Big float bowl.
