Sorry Clint but I won't be there this year to be lapped by your smarmy superior expression. Been there 3 years running but still unable to ride since my smash in the Methvin Street race on the DR 6 month ago. Bike is back and going but I'm not yet. Good luck and watch out for Wyndham Street as its good at bending riders.
While you are down here why don't you buy and race my pre 89 FZR1000 - its real quick and competitive.
    Good Luck

Clint is going to take the wimps option and do the beach race and possibly the hill climb.

A DR rider would do the street race too.......

Damn right it's the wimps option I have to ride my bike 2000km home afterwards Actually my excuse is that you're not allowed to do a street race unless you have done 3 races on a circuit recently. It was therefore a toss up between the sprint races at Teretonga & the hillclimb, since I've never done a hillclimb race before I decided to give that a go.

    Cheers

Well mate, I hope miracles happen and you get a calm day. Otherwise, the wind across the top of Bluff Hill will blow that featherweight orange vibrator clear out into Foveaux Strait.
I've been up there when you literally could not stand up in the open and its a crosswind for the exposed part of the climb.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

Nah, mate, I've got a plan there, I'll let a few of the lightweight MX based supermoto boys go up first, if they don't come back I'll know it's too breezy

Yeah, tried them all. If I remember right, there's a nasty rut in the middle track that catches me every time. I haven't been in there on the DR650 though, only full nobbed DR350 and DRZ400.

I'd be keen for a look, but I won't be going further than 20 minutes from home for at least the next couple of weeks.

Used to take the Skippy Landie up the top of Bluff Hill....That was our weather report. If we could see white horses in Foveaux there, it was stay at home, polish brass and head to the pub at 1600...'Make and Mend' it was called.... Loved it.....

Why? The GSXR600 pulls to maybe 15000rpm, so it's logical to assume the muffler can flow enough air to allow this - 0.6 x 15000 = 9000 litres/min give or take. The DR is fractionally bigger at .65 litres, but the revs are way down, maybe 7500 so the DR only requires 4875 (call it 5000) litres/min flow.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.
