I don't suppose you got the details from the other rider?
Don't want to rain on your parade but you may struggle with your insurance company here. Mechanical failure, after an accident, not as as a result, is normally excluded. Someone here must have an idea who the Yammie rider is. Good luck.
Thats a bastard mate. That clutch cover looks fairly easily fixable, from the pics. Weld up that bottom bolt and re-tap the thread. Just re read your post, clutch cover mite be the cheap bit. !!
So in your photo, the first one, where you heading in the direction that you were parked?

Lodge a claim with your insurance company listing the other rider as responsible for the accident. The road you were on is listed as a paper road so is not classed as off road. Also, wherever and whenever "normal road rules apply". You will be able to do a trace on the plate, assume already done, which lets you list him/her on the claim form and they can chase if they elect too. Your insurance company will also have the ability to rego check the plate you have.
If he is insured, he will have third party liability on his policy so should not even incur an excess if fully insured. You should also lodge a Police report, insist that they take it, as this will assist if you need to go to the disputes tribunal at some later date.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I've done most of these things, but obviously have to file a police report. I went and had a chat to them, but that's all.
I can't do too much now until I hear back from the bike shop regarding the amount of damage.
The actual impact happened about 4 metres down the track. This is where I rolled to a stop. I killed the engine almost immediately but it had already dropped most of its oil.
Getta Bart good to hear you are OK. As has just been said above make a report with the police about the accident. A public road is a road is a road all the same rules apply ie: keep left etc. The police wont do anything because they where not called to the seen but lodge the claim with your insurance company and insist it was not your fault ( as long as that is correct the photo where the oil is looks like you where on the left of the track) make them (insurance) chase the guy if you have all his details. The insurance company will try and take the easy option and say its a 50/50 fault accident, but if you where in the right insist they chase it up (you should not have to pay the excess if you didn't cause it) because if they pay out on the claim you will pay in premiums in the long run and loose your no claims bonus. This process takes about 16 months if your lucky but worth it in the end.
good luck GSers
Anyone seen this before?
For mountain bikes but the motor is just an accessory.
