I got 2 sets of cush rubbers last time.

One of the sets is on Eddies DR.

3rd gears are waaaaay cheaper from the US than NZ.........
There is no surge problem with pumpers.
On a CV carb, any turbulent/pulsed air getting into the airbox can lift the slide fractionally and cause a momentary rich or lean condition.
The cable slide is not affected by this at all.
Having said that, I can't recall having an open road surge issue on the BST.
My occasional problem was going to closed throttle after extended 110kph sections where the slide would stick at the bottom.

Hmmm - I have the "large gulp" version - after extended open road cruising under a constant throttle, the slightest throttle back deviation causes a large power off surge for a second, then back to normal - almost as if the ignition has cut out - well documented elsewhere but no real solution.
Stuck slide was my thinking too but ... frozen carb, standing wave in the inlet port ...
Time to get a pumper and see what that does.
