    Probably sometime next week.

Tempted to get some wolfman panniers too but haven't got luggage racks (not keen on paying 200US for theirs either!)

Anyone purchased and installed a pumper carb like these on offer from Jesse http://www.kientech.com/TM-40Pumper.html

Keen to know of others experiences before splashing out on a pumper carb

thanks in advance - Cheers Aslan
And does anyone have any comment on the open-road surge problem vs pumper carbs - is it cured, worsened ....? If fixed,a pumper would be worth it just for that.

What's this? Not another problem I didnt know I had

Still if a pumper carb is the only fix, I'd better get one. Better safe than sorry!

There is no surge problem with pumpers.

On a CV carb, any turbulent/pulsed air getting into the airbox can lift the slide fractionally and cause a momentary rich or lean condition.

The cable slide is not affected by this at all.

Having said that, I can't recall having an open road surge issue on the BST.

My occasional problem was going to closed throttle after extended 110kph sections where the slide would stick at the bottom.

I have the Wolfmans, they are good though fiddly to put on and take off. Fortunately my DR came with some homemade racks that the Wolfmans seem to fit perfectly.

I better only put the front up the normal height and leave the back low to rake it out a bit then.

Hmmm - I have the "large gulp" version - after extended open road cruising under a constant throttle, the slightest throttle back deviation causes a large power off surge for a second, then back to normal - almost as if the ignition has cut out - well documented elsewhere but no real solution.

Stuck slide was my thinking too but ... frozen carb, standing wave in the inlet port ...

Time to get a pumper and see what that does.
