OK guys. I'm fitting a GSXR600 pipe and cut top airbox
Then Dynojet kit. Which jet size to use with this set up? DJ170 or DJ160

    160 max.

    I don't know of anything that'd require a 170.

    Other than a 780 maybe...

Sorry Nordie, you must get so bored of answering these type of queries, but...
My DR650 with Pro circuit, open airbox etc. Dyno jet kit recommends 170 (DJ170-presumably just the initials and not the size is different from the std jet size system?) for that set up.
But 160 would be better....? what about clip position still number 4?
170 has seemed fine for last year or 2, but I do only get 130- 140 (max) kms to reserve...

I bow to your superior knowledge of all things DR650

Stock 142 main is the same as the DJ150

DJ160 and 4th down on the needle as a start point.
    Mixture screw to suit.

If you stick you finger up it's bum, is there a lot of poo on it or just a light smear?

    DR650 replaces my TTR250

Finally got a DR650- used with 9k on it, pre-farkled with: FMF Q4 slip on, Happy Trails pannier racks, bash plate, Easton 909 fat bars, Dyno-kit, IMS 18ltr tank. Top chain roller has been removed (good call) and has some bar risers as well. Everything is in pretty good order, with the only areas needing attention being some superficial rust on the frame, left side pannier rack not welded on top side, and two of the rivets on the FMF show gas leakage. How does it run? Absolutely amazing! Have not been off road (asides from figure-8's in between the trees on the front lawn) but even with knobby Pirelli RallyCross tyres it absolutely kicks ass. 150kph top speed with 14/42 sprocket set up, cracks on the power with the slightest twist of the throttle, and sounds amazing. Snorkel has been removed as well. Will be replacing the stock air filter with a NoToil, adding some barkbusters, HD tubes, and replacing the tires with some more road worthy ones to see out the winter. Long term? Full suspension upgrade from the master- Rober Taylor, HID light, magnetic sump plug, lite guard, and whatever other "must have" farkles from Pro-Cycle, Kientech, Happy Trails, and Dual Star. I missed the MMMM run due to work, but will be taking "Thumper Fidelis" off to the Coromandel next fine weekend...

Good buy, having ridden that bike not long before the owner wimped out and got a road bike I can agree it goes very well.

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked with my purchase! I'm putting on a Shinko 700 rear this week (hoping to get under the 30 minute mark, it's those damn beers that keep slowing my tire changing) and putting in HD tubes. I got some wrap around Oxford hand warmers on the way, and will report on them shortly. Net reviews say they work pretty good- just have to turn them off/on as they get pretty damn hot. I just love the sound of the exhaust- I've removed the spark arrestor.... Scared the shit (literally) out of the cows in the paddock last night when I blasted up the driveway. The TTR just never seemed to faze them....

Time for new chain and sprockets. What options of 520 sprockets are available in NZ. I think i'll go for the520 over the 525 so I can run 14/15&16 front sprockets. Reckon on a 44 rear. Got a 45 rear at the moment.
