Can you just flip the bottom collar over on the rear spring ???.
The Workshop manual says that you need to buy a different spring collar.

Just bought a mint DR650 last weekend for SUZI GIRL to replace her DR200 and i will need to lower it for her.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

I lowered mine. Followed the instructions in the manual (downloaded from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DR650) Flipped over the rear shock spacer and relocated the spacer in the forks. Suits me fine now

There is no collar to buy.

Do the rear, push the front through the clamps and do the front properly some time before doing jumps...

    Brake Pads

So.. a local motocycle shop has quoted me $90.00 for a set of SBS front brake pads for my DR650- seems pretty pricey to me- they reckon it is a "normal" price for brake pads. What's the verdict? Anybody bought front brake pads and how much did they pay?

Well IIRC my last brake pad purchase was DR650 rears at $38 for sintered pads - Delta braking brand I think I got from from Pitlane (was ChCh Cycletreads).
Price varies on Brand and compound ie sintered/ceramic/what ever.
The last fronts I have recorded was December 2009, they were sintered pads (not sure of the brand but not SBS) for $45 for the set of two pads.

I don't know either but I am using them with good results, got some extra ones to chuck in our spares kit for the trip too.

The trade me ones will be the go; especially with the recommendation. I'm none to impressed with the local bike shops price....UPDATE: I've called up another Suzuki dealership and they gave me two prices: $50 bucks for basic pads (carbon is what he said, I think?) and $87 for sintered which are much higher quality and will bite harder. So it actually looks like my local boys have quoted on the top of the line pads. I am tempted to see what sort of improvement the expensive ones give, especially when the DR is loaded up with all the camping gear.
