    Foot Pegs

Thanks guys, I normally try and support the local Christchurch Suppliers / Shops but at these prices my "support" only goes so far....

yes, easy as to fit - straight in! - if you wanted to you could fit a sleeve - but I haven't bothered and it doesn't effect performance

A big pile of spares - or a project...

I'd buy this if I wasnt leaving the country for a wee while, well depends what it eventually goes for I spose...

If anyone here does buy this, I'd still be keen on some of the parts though...
Hmmm motard wheels on those hubs....or maybe a set with proper knobblies....smaller rear light than my behemoth....etc etc

    Sargent Seat

Just fitted a Sargent World Seat to the mightly DR and back from a 5 hour ride around Banks Pen.
What a difference! No more sore arse or dead legs! Makes the bike enjoyable to ride more than an hour at a time. Brought it from the great guys at Freedom Suzuki in Palmerston North. They have them in stock and arrived via overnight courier. $600 well spent, could have got it a bit cheaper from Aussie or USA but by the time you add the freight and exchange rate, not that much and I wanted in Now!

Call me tight, but for $600 I'd chuck a bit of foam rubber down my pants and buy 20 tanks of fuel.

    Like to see that seat.
Did it come complete including a brand new seat pan ?
Kind of assuming it did at $600 so you now have two entire seats for your DR.

I got annoyed with having my knees around my ears and bending over when standing so rather than buy lowered pegs or making lowering droppers i cut the pegs off and re-welded them on about 2" lower.
Awesome difference! tested at the the sandpit and worked a treat! more room to move!

But im sick of the rebound, and im not prepared to fork big bucks for an ohlins or whatever... Whats this replace rear oil with 10w like? easy? does it work? Oh and im allergic to oil so if its going to be one of those poof and spray oil around my shed... its not for me!

I guess we all find the issues of buying a cheap bike means the good bits get left off huh....

Or perhaps i just out ride the DR and should go buy another KTM950......

Take the shock to a local bike shop and ask for "a fill up with 10W oil and 150psi nitrogen".

They won't be able to do the nitrogen with it in the bike so may as well do the oil too.

If you were doing the Dusty, you could have a go on one with lowered pegs, raised seat and high bars...

Good idea! Does the 10w make much of a difference?

Had i not become allergic to oils, would have been easy as, i even had nitrogen recharge equipment on my service truck..... Gutted...
    Grrrrrr

Makes a big difference. 10w with the compression damping wound right off.
Not as good as proper valving but a lot cheaper.

Ahh. What spring are you running.

I use a car grease on the bevel gear diffs of my R/C off-roader once. Blistered up where ever it touched me. Including where I just scratched my nose.
Used the same stuff later and no issues.
