Anyone seen the difference between the US and NZ spec DR pipes?

I just used one of those triangularly/pyramidy ones.
Thanks - I take it the filter is in the vacuum tap assembly then? If that's the case I'll leave well alone until I put on a plastic tank (my XT Acerbis one still sends through nice bits of swarf and it's 8 years old...)

I'm betting the US pipe is the one on the right, as it's like mine that came from the US... thought the DR was slow until I realised it was an mph speedo The US can is pretty loud and pops like a bastard on the overrun... can't find any gaps either. Maybe it's some weird American air injection emission wotsit... or not(most likely)

The filter is in the metal elbow the fuel line goes onto on the carb.

It's a BST Mikuni carb. It's going to pop. Depends on the exhaust as to how much.

    DR650 Carb Breather question

    Another daft question I'm afraid...

Went hunting for the carb breathers on the DR to tee them off for deep water (like my other bikes) and shock horror it doesn't seem to have any Assuming that's normal as I don't know anything about this particular carb, I did read on ADVRider that there is a breather with filter that runs near the air box - and yes I did find that one.
The link recommends a filter mod for dusty conditions, so would appreciate feedback if that's what people are running as mine get's lots of dust from regular shingle surfing.

Bung some filter foam in the filter up by the airbox.
    It'll pre-filter it a bit.
