Seen that on ADV. It's very well done. Bit of time went into making that video.

Seems simple in the video. Give it a tug, & up it comes.

Does that come with adaptors for rubber carb boots on a dr?

Puling my carb off this week, some shocking fuel use and engine not running as good as it should.

Kientech TM-40 doesn't have the adaptors for the carb, just uses those big ring clamp things to squeeze the boot tight around the carb you can see the pictures on his web page.

Procycle's kit does include the adaptor rings so the stock manifolds will fit without any "squeezing".

    (Man, I love this page http://www.procycle.us/bikepages/dr650.html )

So pulled stock carb off........ slides been already drilled. 140 main and needle at third clip, factory pilot and air screw 2 1/4 turns out, pretty factory stock.......
Was using alot of fuel in the weekend and what i'd say not running 100%

Lowered the float level, looked to be a tad high , but wasn't over flowing and will give carb a clean out. needle and jet look ok no major wear from what i see.

snorkel on airbox looked pretty small so have taken it off.

Are these bikes pretty lean at factory setting? plugs look certainly show no signs of over fueling.

Worth lifting needle before putting it back in?

Float should be parallel with the bowl surface.
Raise the needle a notch if the snorkel is out.

    Slide has one hole stock.

Yes they super lean when stock.
J's DR was super hard to start when cold and worse when been sitting for several weeks, also ran like shit for ages until warmed well. We had the jetting messed with by Phil Parash Mechanical (ex DAS) and now starts easy and runs well.
My DR already had been re jetted by previous owner so has always been easy to start for me.
We generally get 320+ km on our tanks (the IMS ones) before reserve. The two worst mileage rides I've had were 1- using a lower ratio set of sprockets (14/43 IIRC) and chasing guys going faster than I usually like on the easy straights... and 2 - Doing a trip mostly at walking speed with a lot of stopped idling waiting for J who was having a very bad day.
Economy normally is fine with our setup (what ever that is) under 110km/hr (indicated).
I leave my snorkles in place because I hate the extra noise without them in and occasionally the puddles get deep enough worry me if it were out.

Has anyone tried putting two snorkels in, with the top bit cut a bit shorter? would double the intake without any disadvantages (assuming two would fit)?
