18.5km/litre then? Nah, that seems too good. I'd better go do some more sums.

So how's your banjo picking coming along?

i think the last rideout started around 6ish.

tell you what though this DR has a lot more kick then the KLR.

and it's a hell of a lot louder. embarassingly loud. there's a little harley in it somewhere.

This is beer and pizza and talking crap about adventure riding, not a ride. Turning up after 7 is fine. Everyone normally hangs around till 10:30 ish.

So, a standard adventure ride with slightly less chance of falling over?

No worries Dino. I'll probably do a BBQ up there in the New Year sometime.

Hi NordieBoy . Seem to be clued up on the jetting side.
Got a procycle jet kit instead of dJ .

Is the needle same profile as dynojet?
going to open up top of airbox and got a open exhaust for it. 145 or 150 main jet, what you reckon?

    GPS which one?

GPSs change so quickly, I can't keep up. Anyone care to recommend the current "one" to look for. Garmin Zumo? Or what else. I've used old style number crunching variety on boats, but never had one on a bike before. I'm looking for something for off road trails, eg DB1k etc.

Find an older Oregon 300 or 60CSx (the 300 has a much better screen) if you don't mind the smaller screen GPS's and something like the Nuvi 500 for bigger screen but not as good off-road.

Of the new ones, I'd go for a Garmin Montana...

According to Procycle, the needle is the same as the Dynojet.
An opened airbox, exhaust, drilled slide, needle 3rd clip from top, 150 main and mixture screw to suit would be a good start point.
Probably just have to raise or drop the needle a clip to fine tune.
Our fuel runs a little richer than theirs. Sometimes we can get away with a leaner needle setting or even a smaller main jet size than they recommend.

They work a treat, keep the dirt away from the seals. Right up until they don't, then they keep the dirt in and your selas will be cut out in minutes.

Seriously, they're good as long as you take 'em off and clean and inspect inside there regularly.

I got some long ones and the neoprene has started falling apart after 2 years.
Mine are the 1 piece, stitched together ones - no velcro. Love them.
Nothing has got inside them at all.
