Mine are the 1 piece, stitched together ones - no velcro. Love them.
Nothing has got inside them at all.

Fran where did you get those ones from. The ones on T.M are the wrap around velcro type at about $33

Not sure where I got them...

They're long Sealsavers for 80cc bikes (up to 43mm forks).

Need some help here, I removed the starter to lube the rear bush, to do this I removed the cam tensioner housing from the back of the engine, it came out as a unit but now I cant get it to go back in, I can feel the bar or whatever it is in there that the plunger pushes against but it needs to go back in about 15 mm to allow the tensioner to go right back in. I tried to push against the bar in there but it feels solid.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

Is there a bolt with locknut projecting out of the side of the tensioner somewhere? In most cases you loosen the locknut, push the plunger right in against the spring then nip up the bolt to hold the plunger. Once the tensioner is installed on the engine, release the bolt to allow the plunger to press in against the chain, tighten the locknut to stop the bolt falling out.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Remove the bolt which will reveal a small screw. Turn screw [can't remember which way] which will retract spring and plunger. refit to bike with new gasket or if the old one is ok a little grease. Once on bike turn screw which will release spring/plunger and then refit bolt.

Thanks for that, yeah, you turn the screw anticlockwise all the way until locks, this retracts the plunger right back into the housing, once the housing has been refitted, just turn the screw slightly and it releases the plunger.

The starter has a needle roller bearing in the front so it was the bush at the back that was making all the noise, a bit of grease and its a happy starter again.

    Thanks again

Yep, once the arm is retracted, turn it a little more and it'll "click" and hold there. Undo it once it's mounted and it'll come back out again like it's been soaking in viagra.
