Sure, I haven't been here for more than two years (18 months) but people have complained from day one about how the site is run, claiming that they, the people, have ownership...usually the people that haven't been here for a long amount of time either.

The only significant change that I've seen the site make for anyone one individual is when they have ceased logging on. I think PaulInNZ addresses this point.

Being a moderator is a thankless task, not that any of us do this for the thanks. And there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, in the engine room as it were, that most members are unaware of. Mods haven't all been somehow assimilated by the Borg and we value the different perspectives and skills we all have. Spankme's recent decision to step back from the day to day management of the site has impacted on the roles that moderators have traditionally played, and we're still coming to terms with this. We won't always get things "right", but in some cases there are no right answers. We're trying to work as a team and to understand what that means operationally.

Farewell Ixion and Motu. I'll really miss having you guys around.
    Well said Hitcher.

Why do some people have to do a Thread speel about why they are leaving.......just says one thing to me.........some people cannot get out of the cot eh.......

It is sad but I also think Ixion, despite his contributions, is also sad.......it is only a website forum for Poos Sake...sorry cannot say Christ for obvious reasons and my Daughter likes Poo Bear so first thing that came to mind..

I don't have the faintest idea what this is about Ixion but can say I've enjoyed debating with you in the past. It would be fair to say that the quality of argument from yourself and Motu is what has kept me browsing this forum.

Having said that, it has seemed that the issues discussed have declined over the past 3 months but thats only my impression as an occasional visitor.

Les, sorry to hear you have made this decision. I have always enjoyed your posts and respected your knowledge.
For myself, I continue to 'use' this site because of the people I meet and converse with, yourself included, and as long as there's quality people to meet and fun to be had I will continue to enjoy it. Ride safe and well, see you on the road.
    Regards

Yeah, whatever man... Trying to sound like a gruff working class bloke and all that, but needing to leave a last winge before going...

KB is what it is, and is evolving just like anything else that is alive. If one doesn't like where it's going, then just decide it's not you and stop coming by, I really don't understand the "boo hoo, I'm leaving because the mods are evil *stamp foot*" bollocks.

    Ride safe.

First reading thought it was a rev up feeding the fish a post not at all like Ixion. I cant recall any post or thread to substanciate this action but thyen most of my reading is done on night shift and most stuff just overs over the head anyway. Ixion always had great posts and comments that I will miss. Hope to catch up some time if and when the old girl gets back on the road.

Rather than hijacking Ixion's thread, I have put my thoughts here.

Oh bugger, there goes another good un.

This site sure has changed over the last few years. I'm still trying to decide whether it's for the good or bad. There's certainly more shit on here than there used to be, hence the reason why we (that includes you Ixion) mods need to be more vigilant and impose what few rules there are around here. I guess something in particular has upset you.

I for one have disagreed with many decisions individual mods have made on here over the years, and in more recent months, but then again we are all individuals. Hence the reason why I find it a little dissapointing you have targetted 'us', and in particulatr Mr H. So all round - I disagree with your steer.

We didn't always agree, never the less I found you agreeable, and a valuable contibuter to this site.

You'll be missed. Enjoy the break. I did.

    Motu - another legend.

    Take care guys.
