The next Rusty Ride after this would be the GC, but you'd want to keep your clothes on for that, or else it really would be a Cool Challenge.
Then there should be a Four Points, a Longest Day or Capital Cruise and a Chatto Creek.
If you can manage all of them it may go part way to hardening the Butt for the proposed 10,000Kms in 10 days......not to mention what it will do towards hardening your Bank Managers attitude.

Yep, this time next week we'll be on day 2 on the mainland - going down Saturday nad taking it easy on the way down. Been chaffing at the bit for a while now...just 5 days at work to get through somehow.

At Vinegar Hill (bit south of Mangaweka) veer left onto 54 takes you through Fielding. From there you can go either over the hill to Pahiatua and down through Masterton (Rimutaka's) or Shanon and out to the main highway near Levin.
You just bypassed Bulls, Ohakea, Sanson and took a more scenic Road. (check it on a map)
