this may sound stupid but my series 4 rx7 i had did the same crap, went through the whole could be this could be that saga, turned out it WAS flooding and not starting, drying the plugs didnt help, had to leave it for ages.

the fix - an "H" valve that joined the fuel "in" line, to the fuel "out" line before it got to the throttle body, stopped to much fuel rushing in to the injectors under the high fuel pressure and didnt affect the proformance at all.

another fix used was a switch when starting that you pulled to stop the fuel pump pumping the fuel while starting, once shes running, cos theres always enough to fire it up, you release the switch and its good as gold.

    just a thought

ok great. how much diff has this made to your performance??? one more question...if i do the air box thing, cut the wire, and take that baffle out as described in aprilla site.....does this muck up your engine mapping???? someone told me you cant do any mods like playing with pipes etc without remapping/????? is thia correct

this will not solve the probs you are currently experiencing. The de-restrict will slightly enhance power, however obviously the bike should run fine without. Do you park outside??what spark plugs are you using?can you here the fuel pump priming when you switch on?? Do a diag test (search af1), might help.

have found over last three days starting good, it seems to be the longer it left the harder it is to start.

done the diag thing ..... and reads 0 so no probs there. took the air filter restricter plate out ant notice oil film inside base of plastic filter housing next to throttle bodies??? what is this??? i notice it has a drain tube so it must be normal for fluids to collect in here?

am still a bit nervous about cutting wire from computer, what if mine is the 02 model and doesnt have seconary chip.... then i in the shit??? anyway to tell on frame excat what year model it is??

    thanks

Don't worry about the wire cutting if ya don't want to . Year is stamped into the swingarm on the chain side will have 99.00.01.02 etc & should be on your Vin plate up on the headset , tube is for over flow of oil in the airbox housing if not full then don't worry .
