Out with the old .. in with the new

After having a quick spin on a k7 a few weeks back i decided i might be able to manage a thou at last. I wasn't overly impressed with some of the stying but love the rear end.. nearly as much as the yammie.

so i said goodbye to the cbr600 which has seen me right and proved endless fun.. a bike you have to ride hard and will forgive you if you **** up.. which i did on occasion.

Saturday i picked her up..all nice and new and apparently black is the new black.. so black it was. i tootled on home and sat her in the garage until later that evening when i went for a trip in the rain to Chez Dovers for a beer and some TT action... nothing major to report.. motorway, rain.. far too many horses to even think about twisting the throttle.

So out we go this morning, the roads wet but it's not raining and theres some places to ride... yeah right. I have still have 2 inch chicken strips after putting 350k's on her and i'm yet to ride her properly.. well in the dry anyways.

i tried a wheelie in 1st which saw me keep the front wheel on the ground but the rear decided it wanted to be at the front of the bike... 1st to the right.. then to the left then back round to the right again... FULL LOCK .. an irish tank slapper.... i turned around to see if anyone was watching and Sanx comes along and says .. Did you mean to do that you've left black snake marks all over the road and the rear kicked out at least 5 feet....??!! hahahah yeah right i say with a hysterical grin on my face.

So .. lesson number 1.... RESPECT the horses.. DONT crack the throttle open and be patient for good weather!

first impressions: Shes heavy to move around when your off the bike. On it you only have to think about leaning or standing her up and she does.. immediately! (not that i lent it over today). Shes comfy.. very comfy, got so many gadgets i don't know which button to press 1st ( although .. thanks again Dover for puttin it in C mode for me last night ) There seems to be a lot of noise through the seat and foot pegs... which i'm not use to.. i think this is a good thing tho..right? The foot pegs are adjustable and you can flip it over to race shift pattern easily.. the tank seems to last for ever and i do believe the steering damper works!!! roll on the weather and some more mint NZ roads and bye bye RR hello Gixxer. ( i'll let you know how i get on if she doesn't maim me first )

New bike to play with? All good! Glad to hear you didn't do something too nasty with it on the first play out with it!

So what's the first mods you thinking of blinging it up with?

ahahha The king of bling huh Joe! .. Dovers bike is the one to aspire to... crg black levers, hell braided lines, tail tidy, smoked indicators front and rear. I've taken a fancy to twin growlers or the carbon yoshi's but fear that the ugly mother funkin black trumpet things currently on theer will stay there for some time. I've destickered her and shes got crash nobs on already; other than that its swap out the rear sets and fit with some black ones to tie the rest of the black on black thing that needs to be going on.

my real challengs is going to see if i can ride her as fast or slow as i did teh cbr.. which after todays incident is going to be a while away.. i now see why Dovers so slow!

    churr for teh comments all

I was out and about today yeh, you'll get used to the bike in no time, you've already grasped the most important fact with any of the sports 1000s and that's to treat it with respect. Bikes can be dangerous, but the 1000s WANT to kill you.

Thumbs up Congrads are in order

Mate those thous are easy to ride lol its the 600's that take the time to get used to.

Don't do first gear stuff till you know when and how to snick it to second.

You will be a master in no time. 3 rd gear clutch ups must be on.

As a small ryder to the bull shite in the first sentence please do take your time getting used to her. who gives a toss about dicky strips.

Look foward to hearing you getting on well.

That will make the thing much easier and less intimidating to ride mate...those that are there stock really are terrible, in my humble opinion.
