A small and furry squatter has taken up residence in our kitchen. It hides inside the back of the oven, and is living off scraps that it steals from our plates while they await being cleaned off and put in the dish washer.
It's a hard case little bugger- it knows MrsB is scared of it (the loud squeak she emits every time she see's it probably gave that away), so it hides under the elements and peers out at her. Last night I went in there and it was trying to steal a large bit of pizza crust. Even though it could hear me talking it continued to drag the crust towards the entrance to it's lair...
I have decided that as it is a hard case, it deserves a chance to be caught alive and released (yes I'm a soft bugger!), so I have devised a cunning plan to capture it...
I have a plastic milk bottle balancing on the edge of the oven....inside the bottle is a nice big bit of pizza crust...tied to the bottle is a bit of string that is tied to the oven...
When my noble advisory walks to the end of the bottle to retreive the crust, his weight will over balance it, the bottle will fall to the end of the string, and he will be trapped!!!
So, do you reckon it will work??
