damn sexy lookin bikes tho.. but i hear they're not the best at handling.
I almost took a silly loan (read paying 35k+) on the R1, but i had some dude on my shoulder yelling in my ear saying get real... i'll take your word for it big man. The gixxer thou k3 i kinda got the hang of, not fast paced by any means (lol, when have i been fast!), but was enjoying it and was relatively smooth and not getting stupid.

I'd be wary of the thou not wanting to corner, my guess is he had gas on when he shouldn't have... but i wasn't there so can't say.

Did you end up on a K7 or a 'late' k6?

The 55 is height of tyre from rim, yeah, but it's also in mm rather than percent. Percent of what?

Weird how they do it... 180mm (width of tyre) / 55mm (height of tyre from rim, measured in the middle) / 17 inches (inside diameter / wheel rim diameter). Why metric for the first two, then imperial for the last? I know, I know, something about wheels always been measured in inches... blah blah... it just doesn't make sense!

Probably exactly the same place as he pulled the 140bhp and 18:1 compression ratio for his R6 in another thread...

Dude ... work it out the best way for yourself. Some people like cornering under a trailing throttle, but it loads up the front wheel. Some people like gassing it out of a bend, which adds to the risk of the rear stepping out and the bike highsiding. Some people prefer backing the bike in with the rear brake, whilst others go into a corner absolutely neutral then accelerating whilst straightening up.

Work out the way you like best, and stick to it. But FFS don't have a go at others for having different opinions. There's no one right way, though there are plenty of wrong ways. If you can't understand that, then there's a nice GN with your name on it somewhere.

I've heard of 135rwhp from an R6, but that was a full spec AMA race bike... so not particularly cheap!

I'd love to see a legit source on where you are quoting those HP figures from...

either way... sanx is still right about do it your own way... or you'll get 'advised' all the way into A&E from conflicting opinion

I've seen people lower what mags say, for hp figures... I ain't ever seen anyone list higher figures My personal opinion, it doesn't actually matter what mag says what about what bike. Saying you have 5hp more than your mate is only making other people laugh. Its how you feel on the bike, and how it delivers the hp.

you don't need that many horsies... I had a massive lock to lock slapper on my old 7, which had... mmmm 110-120rwhp, the power just kicked in, no smoothness. Scary shit tho

back to normal events... please carry on, this thread is hilarious

I'm not sure this is quite accurate dude...when people are helping and making sure you don't get lost and go the wrong way its a fairly big call to say that you can keep up with them. Anyway, doesn't really matter because we all should ride at a pace that is comfortable for us and there is no heroism in riding out of our skin...just need to be accurate when reporting on these sort of things or next time you may find these 'litre' bikes a little harder to 'keep up with' !

Had a good ride with you though cause although my bike probably could actually keep up with the ZX10R's, R1's and ZX14's of this world, I wasn't too keen in tryin
