    Boyesen water-pump cover/impeller for a RMZ 250, is this a worthwhile mod??

Hi, I have been reading about the overheating problems with 4 strokes in general. and it seems that installing a Boyesen Water Pump cover/impeller seems to help a great deal.

    what i am asking;
    is this really needed??
is there other mods that might be more effective?

does anyone have any experience with these?

are you using a lot of water, have you looked into a catch bottle,

they are better, but if you are not using a lot of water now you do not have a big problem,

ill email some info on small catch bottles that i have started to bring in on tuesday,, they fir on the back of the radiator, similar to what the factory bikes run in the states and europe,
also kawasaki sell a 1.6 bar radiator cap that helps as well,
biggest problem 250F have is sitting still, they generate a lot of heat and will overheat quickly if not moiving forward,

I have a vented front gaurd for a rmz250 not sure on brand. is yellow and has a white back(radiator side) with vents in it for more air flow. Its not a butchered gaurd it was made like that you can have it for $60?

I thought that the 04 and 05 had the over heating issues on the RMZ and KXF? And I thought also that the water pump mod was because of the retarded setup where you had to take off the waterpump everytime you touched the oil filter. I thought that was alos on the 04 and 05.

I was told all was sorted by the 06 ones.

    Anyway, get a 2 stroke!!

ahh back to the 2 stroke debate all ready cheese? got to come up with something new !

04 and 05 models i think you are right had the overheating problems, 06 has changed, but i think like all 4 strokes they are prone to it. therefore was looking at worthwhile mods that might help this in the future.

I think you can get some special readiator fluid that works better, sounds like snake oil to me though.

You want to go for a ride this weekend? I think that woodhill might be the only suitable place....

cheese, no offence but you have no idea what you are talking about

engine ice does work, it has a higher boiling temptrture and thier fore does not boil and lose, simple thoery, most anti freezes actually boil at a lower temp than water

all four strokes will boil if sitting still, 04 KXF's and RMZ's were the worse of all, they put bigger radiators on in 05 and helped a bit, 06 went bigger again,
all 250F;s will boil if sitting still,

the easyist way to fix the 250F heating problems is to put water back into them when they blow it out, (like when you get stuck, or have to wait somewhere, a catch bottle does that,
a higher pressure radiator cap and a fluid that does raises the boiling temp do the same thing, keep fluid in their longer

Yeah lets do it. Booom is cracking the shits cause he doesn't like woodhill that much.

Where is the WMCC ride at? teh same as the GNCC loop again?

I think that with the rain it will be the better place to go . i was keen on ardmore but I think it will be too wet.

Woodhill was great for the 2 man last weekend, it had packed down so well!
i find ardmore so hard in the wet, sliding up the jump faces then landing in the slush i definatley have not figured out how to do it.
