So stoked to hear of more positive progress. This has to be better than any win you've had before Shaun. Keep healing mate.

...must be working.
(People leave messages of goodwill and 'requests' for the famous little people at the Fairy Bridge, between Douglas and Castletown).
It's back..."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
Well they would look after one of their own!
FYI folks, donations now total $4,000.
For those fortunate enough to be in a position to donate a little more generously, then please check out this auction on Trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...961318&ed=true
The buyer will receive a uniquesigned 2006 photo of the lap record holder and legend in his own lifetime, John McGuinness
, at Sulby Bridge after just winding down from about 190mph along Sulby Straight!!
More importantly, the auction comes with something even more unique - a plastic Bushy's beer 'glass' plus bonus beer mat. These are 2007 Centenary TT items, and are likely to be very rare - or at least a good conversation piece
!
As these items were either very generously donated (photo by leading fireman Nigel Fraser in the IOM - Cheers Nige & hello to Sue, Abbey & Sophie), or (ahem) stolen from Bushy's beer tent on Douglas prom, every cent will go to Shaun's fund.
Enjoy & go bid...

Hi All
Just a quick update on Shaun, His op is over and done with and has gone well.
Doctors has secured his Pelvis and also tended to some undiscovered internal injuries that couldnt be found until he was opened up but were nothing to serious.
Is showing some very Shaun like behaviour when he asked for a Heinken. Good sign as their sales have been down while hes been in hospital!!

I've had a text today from Shaun to say he really appreciates all the donations and money raised for him, Fiona and Petra. However, now he is back and on his way to recovery he has asked that people stop donating funds. As such I will be closing the account this week and handing over the $5,140 raised by all of you. If you have an AP going into this account can you please put a stop on it.
Thank you to everyone for all your kindness and generosity.
Bloody good effort Guys and Girls - super cool!
tell the old bugger that...
IF we want to give him money we will....![]()
what a ride so far!!!!
Hi Folks, I have just read this entire thread for the first time! I am truly sorry for not getting on here sooner than this, I do not know why I have not.
All that you people have done for me and my family is trully wonderfull, YES, having the money is wonderfull, as I am not earning a cent from any where, and as a lot of you know, I put a lot of my own money in racing, so your donations are trully appreciated, and helped us stay alive and well.
The whole thing from crash day to today, has been a bit of a blure to me really, Fiona and others have been amazing in the way they have helped care for me. My memory of the crash itself is nothing, I have a memory loss of 6 days before the crash, so cannot even remember some of the people I met, nor most of practice week.
I had 4 pins sticking out of my stomach, that were attached to bones in the Isle of man hospital, apparently one day/night I woke up and found a spanner beside my bed, so I started to remove these pins, I unbolted the parts that I could, and physically unscred the pins out of my bones on my own, to get rid of them, apparently a nurse walked in as I finished, and I told her I was building a hotrodand laughed my face of before crying my eyes at the pain I had inflicted on myself, starnge things happen on accasions when you are that screwed up!
I was in and out of an induced comma for approx 3 weeks, when Fiona arrived, the hospital reduced my medication to see if I would agkoledge my wife Fiona, according to Fiona I responded well to her face, I went into immediate hyper mode, and the hospital had to give me more medication to settle me down again, I would keep pulling out the 3 tubes that they had placed in me, for food intake and breathing and draining of not so pleasent stuff.
The Isle of man hospital operated on my 4 broken bones in my legs a few days after my crash, but did not have enough experience to do the job on my Pelvis which was in 9 pieces. My pelvis and bladder were repaired in the LEEDS hospital by a doctor called Toby Bradfoot, he is the contracted doctor that attends all the BSB race meetings as a specialist in case of emergencies, he is also the doctor that repaired the Japanese rider ( Pelvis also) who races for Corona Suzuki in the world superbike series, so his reputation and history is brilliant, he has done an awsome job, that the NZ specialist that is now dealing with me is in total amazement at his workmanship.
Between my legs and my pelvis, I now have 86 screws in my body that I never had before, so I am guessing that I am well screwed. I am now allowed to put upto 50% of my weight onto my left leg ( Full weight on the right) and within 4-6 weeks from now, should be totaly free of crutches and wheel chair.
As of this coming Friday, I start a very intense physio programme, involving a lot of swimming pool work, and as soon as I can fully weight my left leg, I will be starting a muscle building programme.
I have stated a few times that I am now a retired racer BUT BUT BUT, as the days tick bye, and see myself getting better, my passion for racing again is becoming very strong. I am not sure if I will race again, but I am going to focus on my recovery and strength building, with the idea that I am going to race again, and we will see what happens.
NZ champs start in January, so I am giving myself untill Mid December to make this decision to race again or not.
Any way, just to say thankyou to you all for what you did for us, it has been trully very much appreciated, and it is great to be involved in a place with so many people that have great morals and attitude
I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots! ALBERT EINSTEIN
