Temptation to make a fart joke here but I will resist.

I'm fairly sure that there were quite a few Celts, Gauls and the like spewing similar grapes in the general direction of Roma oh, say, 2100 years or so ago. Didn't help 'em much, but.

'bout time for another proper iron-fisted world empire anyway, been doing without one for, oh, a few centuries now. The Brits were far too nice about it and therefore don't count.

Hail the Pax Americana and its noble advocate, Murray10k!

J - that is the COOLEST response ever.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I don't need to add anything more here to make this guy look even more like an idiot but Sherpas are from Nepal and not India! Hence the Sherpa you are refering to who accompanied Hillary to the Sumit of Everest was a Nepalies man, not Indian! (I don't give a toss about my spelling anyway, its a biker forum for F'sake, not the Oxford English book discussion forum or something lol).

howdy from Texas, kiwi biker mates... beautiful country you guys have there...

It embarrasses the shit outta me to see people from the USA come on forums like this and pull this kinda crap. We have one rock, we all gotta live on it, get over it!

Anyhow... Here's a link I found re: this bloody 48-cyl bike, includes all the pics previously mentioned, plus a link to the video of the guy starting it up. Someone said they wanted to hear what it sounds like.

He cranks this 49cc motor and revs it until it's about ready to pop a cork and then pulls a lever or something that connects it to the engine.

"Each motor is basically 8 "s1 /KH250" cylinders bolted on to cut up standard casings, with a 8 cyl built up crank, in turn they are bolted to a housing, gear linked and driven thru a BMW road bike gearbox, as the bike is pretty long already it would be difficult to put a transverse drive thru a gearbox. It has taken almost three years of hard work and he has overcome some huge problems to get here - - where do you even start to think about building a bike like this? . . . Oh, by the way, Simon is not an engineer of any kind - he oversees the building of shopping precincts etc

Don't look at it as a bike, look at it as a pure feat of engineering . . . and Simon built a Nitrous injected, fuel injected, water cooled, supercharged H1 about 5 years ago! . . . . How will he top this one? He can't - WHO CAN? I think as you say, his next project may be reverting back to a small engine and gaining the maximum horsepower from it "

"The bike has a small 75cc "Donkey" engine undr the seat to start it."

"The ignition is by 6 x 8cyl E-Type Jaguar distributers."

"Oh, and not only does it run - but it is rideable - JUST! - the engine and box alone weight just over a ton! "

I would not even consider riding that

    I'd consider riding anything...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I'd want a little bank of LEDs mounted on the tank, one in series with each of the ignition circuits. Watching 'em flicker faster as you twisted the throttle would be *fun*, and if something wasn't firing it'd be a great diagnostic tool.
