    Who's got the best commute?

So who has got the best ride home then?
Every day I mean, not just a couple of times a week when you decide to ride to town from the farm or whatever.

My commute is good fun, up Tinakori Hill in Wellington, through the park, quite a lot of nice looping corners, sweeping from left to right to left to right, like skiing a giant slalom. Good smooth firm countersteering, body-leaning fun.
It's where I first touched my peg to the road.
But it's too short (10 mins) and in an urban area, too much danger of box-pilots backing out of driveways, or kids, etc.

Have you got a good commute?

Through east Auckland - 22 sets of traffic lights and then FINALLY the allure of the southern Motorway where I play dodgem with the Auckland Cager's Society. Then off the motorway and into the undulating suburbia that is Ponsnobby and only 2 more sets of trafic lights - 8 hours of pain and then do the whole thing in reverse.

Takes about 25 minutes each way - only seven of which are on the motorway.

    So my commute is shit.

I had a real sweet commute for a while 12 or so years ago. 75 ks each way from my parents place south west of Nelson, into Nelson. This was in the days before Spooners range was straightened out. It was an awesome ride.

    Yes, in my dreams.
Meanwhile I am coping with the Southern Motorway and all the moving obstacles. So , no, I don't have a dream ride to work or home.

I've got a nice commute. I work in Ellerslie and live in Mt. Wellington. When weather allows I ride home via Autobahn :-)

I didn't think mine was anything to talk about but some of you guys have crap commutes! I have 10 k's of country then the NW'ern, no lights till town and only one set (after town) the way I normally go back. Have the option of Coatsville-Riverhead H'Way / Ridge Rd (that area) to albany and the northern into town which I do at least once a week, some times everyday both ways in summer.

When I have time I go NW'ern, old north, Helensville, Silverdale - opposite to the rush hour on the new M'Way, Albany then back thru Ridge Rd, Coatsville etc or just Upper Harbour H'Way (who can wait for the new link there?!) to home.

Yeah not actually strictly the answer to the "every single day commute" question but I don't have it bad at all I suppose!
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!
