Rabbit stew cooked on a wood fire in Balclutha.

I have been watching the weather lately and it looks a bit grim down there in Balclutha with power cuts and closed roads and all. I am sure that if Scumdog had a minute to himself he could tell us all about riding with chains (if it is possible) and dealing with snow covered roads in NZ. Take care down there old fella.

Yeah keep warm Scummy. Looks like I got out of Dunedin at the right time on the 4.50pm flight on Monday - those that stayed for the 7pm got stuck overnight due to air craft maintenance issues - if we were still there now I guess we'd be rather cold whereas here in Welly the sun is shining brightly.
    Cheers

Thanks guy, yeah pretty chilly down here, luckily I have one of those old blue great-coats to keep me warm when out and about at work.

Roof has sprung a leak and our dining table has a large plastic bin on it to catch the drips. (Bloody snow!)

Our modern car (CBs 84 Laser) now needs a new abttery due to the cold.

Can't go riding, bike does not have chain, only belt...mwahahaha (sorry!)

No power cuts at Chez Scumdog -yet.

Still, sitting on front of 'puter with warm cuppa (or whisky later on) is not too bad

    Stay warm.

Just at the moment it's sunny here, but I think that's a cunning plot on the part of the weather Gods. They want to suck me into going outside and washing the bike so they can dump on it. Again!

It is nice to see mother nature finally doing her "winter" thing. Hopefully the leak in the roof freezes over and you end up with a wonderful talking point!

    Stay safe Scummy!

    Same here - if you're a penguin!

Today is A1 - sunny, no wind and the only snow is on the hills, having a go at getting a section of the roof 'snow-proof' at the moment. (Flat roof and snow don't always work)

Shitty weather means 'tinkering-time' but got caught measuring up and making a template for a scumdog designed free-breathing air cleaner for the T-Sport, her wot buys the wine wanted to know why I wasn't working on her '62 Fairlane instead.....

You Guys and Gals still freezing your butts of down south I see on the News...

If it makes you feel better it is mildly cool in Wellington..
I went for a late arvo ride at 3.30pm over to Featherston and back. yeah a bit windy but sunny, sunny, sunny and dry roads. Man those Beemer heated grips worked well- the Hutt valley is permanently trying to imitate Siberia, so I switch them on through the chill valley. Atleast I finally get to use them somewhere.
Anyone been riding around the deep south today?
Totally off topic but after 6 months & 13000km on the beemer I found out this week it has self cancelling indicators! They rock! I reckon they add another 5kph to the bikes average speed and improve fuel economy. Such a clever gimick. How do they grow people small enough to live inside my handlebars? And who feeds them?
Sorry, I'm on my 5th Bourbon & coke

The trouble is that even NIWA admit that their climate predictions are only 48% right, and they claim to be among the best in the world. http://nzclimatescience.net/index.ph...id=25&Itemid=1
This means that there is a 52% chance that it won't get warmer.
