    Oh yeah.

Nobody's mentioned them yet, but Mac's Black and Monteith's Black are both top drops.

Yeah Hoegaarden is weird, like it has cinnamon in it or something. Had a few Groush last night, it’s one of the staples as well + the big swingtop bottles make fine home-made chilli sauce bottles.

The large Stella bottles are imported, the smaller ones are made locally.

Why is it that most of the beer in NZ is made with the worst water we can summon? :spudwhat: Montieths Gold was a beautiful drop with a nice nutty aftertaste. They destroyed the flavour when they transferred it to Auckland. The Pilsner is still ok though, I wonder if that is still made in the S.I.?

Yeah as for monteiths, I have been seen consuming Radler and Celtic Red on occasion. Maybe the summer ale sometimes.

The Copper Room - Takapuna anyone?

That may be because while Stella used to be imported, it's now made under licence (so the eau de seawage is not longer present).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yeah, good innit? The attempted infiltration by some lame US bike abortioner is thus thwarted.

Oooer... post 1080 in this thread about beers and their funny flavours ...

One of my colleagues has been obsessively cutting two-for-one Copper Room Monteiths coupons from the back of his shopping receipts for the last month.

We'll be there again for lunch tomorrow, I expect. We've almost run out of vouchers, though.

Monteiths is good enough, but $7 a glass is a bit steep.

$7 for two glasses, on the other hand, is right on

[Edit: When I say 'there for lunch', I mean, 'eat cheese-and-pickle sandwiches at our desks, and then take a walk up and drink half-price Monteiths while we digest'.]

    Damn right
    Thanks woolworths
Had a great pub crawl a couple of weekends ago, started 12pm at the Blankenberge (the belgian beer cafe just a couple of doors down from TCR), had lunch there, then shifted to the copper room for a couple of hours Manage to pay someone to drink a bottle of HP sauce, watched the aftermath, then left for more pubby doom! Was a damn good start.
