As an owner of such a machine (38,000 km and going strong) I would love to meet with those similarly equiped.
Its hard enough having something a little out of the ordinary. Would be good to be able to swap stories, tuning tips, etc with like minded individuals
Where am I?
Just over the Tuakau Bridge 6 km past Onewhero. Not central north island but not too far out of the way.

"When you think of it,
Lifes a bowl of ....MERDE"
I have been tooling around on mine in West Auckland for the last 10000km, with the occasional trip around the Coro loop, or down to Taupo / Rotorua and back.
Unfortunately, one too many tickets in my cage have left me on a limited licence until August 17.
After that I will be keen as for a bit of a catch up with other GS1200 owners for a coffee and a chin wag in some far flung part of the North Island.
The only mods I've done was break the clutch lever and left hand mirror when I fell off the road at about 10km/h, and put a friends zx10r pipe on it which makes things a little more lively above 5000rpm.

Did a GS1200ss club ever get going? I see Mr Merde lives only a km or so from my old stamping ground at 'whero. There's a guy down Klondyke Rd and another in Kauri Rd and me at Patumahoe who are always ready for a ride, work permitting (?) but mid week frequently ok. Cheers
I think I am coming down with something. I'm feeling an almost incurable case of needing to go for a ride somewhere in the middle of next week, instead of going to work.
At this stage it feels like the symptoms will be particularly nasty on Wednesday 24th of October (depending on the weather), so if anyone with a GS1200SS feels that their part of the north island has some nice twisty open roads that may hold the cure, then let me know.
