Question Help??? Exempt Class B rego??

Hey guys.. I have just gotten my first rego reminder and was a bit puzzled when I looked at the amount of $35 for 12months rego?? When I checked the vehicle usage its under exempt class b (eb) I looked this up on LTSA and its an agricultural exemption???? Has anyone heard of this or know why it would be under this licence? Its an 02 GS1200SS so Im pretty sure it aint a farm vehicle? Any help would be sweet!

    Cheers

Cos the LT(s)A has cocked up.

You'll need to tell them and pay the increased amount, or if they catch you, they'll ping you hard.

My best mate has 6 cars and some are rego'ed as agricultural including the V8 HQ and the Anglia Panelvan. You can rego things as you please, the people taking the money don't have to check on you, but if you get stopped and your "farm vehicle" is being used for something else you better start talking! (or stop depending on how good you are at getting out of trouble). It's an easy way to keep them current w/out the cost. Stuff thats hardly used on the roads and so does less damage to the rd's / is in less accidents so has less ACC component is cheaper. This is based on stats from the previous vehicles rego'ed in that class, not what type of vehicle they actually were.

The Anglia will be "classic" this year, cheaper still and is far from what you would picture as a classic car. Just old enough.

Change it before you get snapped and there shouldn't be backcharges due, get caught and you might find extra charges a way down the list of problems.

Yeah its a trick used by a few to get out of paying rego. I believe your allowed withen 16km of your farm or traveling to another farm that employs you. $200 fine if you get caught which is about the same as a years rego.

Hey thanks heaps for the warning. The bike is new to me. I got a bike shop to check on the motocheck (?) website and it has had this exemption since it was a demo bike at holshots back in 02. it has never had a normal rego??
