E49 Charger, what a beast fond memories. Kids, we had 6 between us, 4 boys, who just loved borrowing our work vans when we weren't home. Been called to salvage them from all over the Waikato, rooted clutches from wheelies, on their side or upside down in ditches. And thats not even counting the cars they been thru, which of course we go guarantor on the loan for, after 2 or 3 weeks they can't afford petrol or tyres or to make payments, I reckon I should have bought shares in UDC. Been the cause of many an argument between me and the wife.![]()
The things we did when we were young.
I use to drive my old mans 65 Chev to Tauranga every weekend when I was 12 cos my mum was to short to see over the dash
Then when I was 15 my dad bought a 70 HT Monaro & I got to drive it home from the dealers cos the old man had been drinking.
Was bit pissed of cos he had the chose between the monaro a xu1 & 68 comaro & I tried hard to get him to choose the comaro
On the way down the NW motorway he told me to open it up so I did
Was my first time over 100mph + & my first speeding ticket
Luckly I was only clocked at 80mph:spudflip:
Im not as good as I ones was
But Im as good ones as I ever was![]()
Great days , my old man brought himself a 1972 , 265 pacer , 4 speed box , damn that thing could go.Took a mate for a ride one nite i don't think he had ever been over 70mph, time we hit the end of the north western at 115MPH , he had left finger dents in the dash, the other cars was 2X 1960 Plymouth with the wings, in black of course. He used them as wedding cars. Should of put the pacer up against the charger. Bit like a sports bike up against a cruiser
TALKING ABOUT BIKES AGAIN
mmmm bikes!

Dang!I mite make the ride saturday
Im not as good as I ones was
