A few years back the workshop I worked in we made up a stand for big bikes. It was made up from 2 car jacks joined together --worked a treat

I had a similar problem, it was a pain to wash the wee beastie without a service stand.

You could go for something a bit cheaper from the states, these guys are real quick on delivery. And the reports I have seen say this is a good lift.

BUT this is what I use in the workshop for wheels off work. from Trade Quip in East Tamaki http://www.tradequip.co.nz/products.asp?code=TQ2043 awsome lift, the big cruisers sit rock solid on them once fully lifted and sitting on its lock pin. For wheels on work I use a air lift bench.
