but that is the whole point, they are cruisers not rockets, they are*meant* to be different. As long as they can happily pass when needed whats the problem?

You know, for a Buell rider, you can make a lot of sense at times...
I wasn't sure I'd like a cruiser after the 600F - I really enjoyed the sports ride but did find it a bit lacking in comforts for the long boring bits and was always looking for a set of corners to carve. However, I LOVE
our C50T! It's a completely different ride and we just relax and cruise and I could ride it all day! After the 177km I did on the Cruiser Run last Sunday, I rode to Hamilton Monday, staying the night in Morrinsville and coming home Tues morn. A round trip of 360km. Rather than being tired and sore as I would have been on the GSX-F, I found myself thinking about popping up to Wellsford to visit my sister for the afternoon! I didn't, as I had too much to do, but the Boulevard just makes me look for excuses to keep riding!
Of course I'm in the "older age group" now, and not the speed-freak young hoon I was 30 years ago! My whole life is more relaxed and easy going these days.
Natural, relaxed ergonomics, "Twist and Go" top gear torque and roomy for bum and feet. Lots of luggage space and a happy pillion. What more could you want? Ok, maybe a GSX-R750 for solo fun from time to time, but as a daily ride or for longer trips, the C50T is almost the perfect bike! Just gotta watch the corners a bit...
I'm sure most of the banter and mud-slinging is just fun and everyone I've actually met in person, just appreciates the comaraderie and joy of riding and the variety of people and bikes only adds to the whole bike scene! I never take it seriously, far more important stuff to worry about! Like is the day a good one to go for a ride...
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
