Its a global site dude. Head to www.dragginjeans.co.nz and you'll get the same thing.
That first site (.com) must be a distributor or something offering those prices.

I bought mine from the Drag'n Office in Melbourne when I was over there. I guess the best idea would be to find out if anyone is going over there and wouldn't mind picking up a pair.

The guy in the shop reckoned one of his customers binned it at 200 KPH and was fine in them. He'd also heard of paramedics getting through 4 pairs of scissors trying to get them off! Sure they won't help a whole lot if you get T-boned at a junction, but how much better off are your ankles and knees going to be in leather or cordura (however the f you spell it)?

One point worth noting is that they are not 100% lined. Only the areas most commonly effected in crashes are lined. I'd say about 80% lined.

We've got 'em as well. camo, black, dark blue, light blue and charcoal. $239 to $249.
We're in Auck too, so you can try and buy. Instant gratification.

By the way Hitcher, the reason we want deposits is because we get often stuck with gear that people don't return for.
We don't force people to buy if the size is wrong, unless the goods can't be returned. Which is very rare.

I've seen the result of a bin in Draggins, and personally I wouldn't bother with them. Leather or armoured pants should be the go regardless of the weather.

I did have Draggins in Aussie, but gave them up after seeing another blokes injuries.

I wasn't talking about a deposit, I was talking about being asked for the full cost. Why could I possibly want to fork over $250 of hard-earned, tax-payed dosh for something I couldn't wear? While such practices may appear to make sense for a retailer, they make absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. And hey, I'm the customer! And I have choices.

P.S: The store in question wasn't AMPS, if that's any consolation...

I don't own Draggins, but I have a pair of Hood jeans (which are similar).

This is a link to a drag test they did with a pair

They weighted them down, then dragged them for a 1/4 of a mile at 50mph (80kmph?). I think the results are pretty impressive.

i own a pair and reckon they are great for casual riding into town or wuteva. And yea u have no impact protection so bruises do come out of a bin, but i havent binned in mine so dont no wut they are like in that case. but i do have faith in them to work, especially with the price i paid for them.

I went down at open road speeds wearing a pair, I thought at first they weren't that great but given the conditions they held together rather well. All I got was some skinned knee caps which were back to normal a month later.

Edit: just remembered my jeans were "2 brothers racing" jeans lined with kevlar. Not sure how different but I imagine they would offer the same sort of protection as draggin jeans.
