You Can't Ride That Bike For S*$@, Mate.

When I was living in Wellington last year, me and a mate (he was on a RGV150) went for a thrash up to the Hutt, and along the way we met a couple of dudes on a RGV150 and a ZXR400. So we had a lil race. I was bloody surprised that the dude on the RGV had no riding skills what so ever and he only started to lane split when I did. Faring for his, I slowed down and backed off, but he came up beside me and was tormenting me. Lets just say. To get away from him, I “halled arse” and proceeded to give him the one finger salute..

I was just wondering if you dudes have ever seen a biker on the road, which in no way should have ever fathom that they should stride a bike

It's times like that when you need to take the person aside and have a quiet word... something like...

"Nothing personal - and you can take or leave this - but my suggestion is that you go to a riding school or get some training on riding that thing. From what I've seen today, you are going to lose control of that thing sometime soon.

It costs a lot, and it hurts.

I don't want to see that happen, and I'm sure you don't either.

    Just my opinion"

I've seen someone in fulll race leathers tanking it on a little scooter down the motorway at about 50ks... I'm assuming it was a loaner from the bikeshop (heh heh, those bikeshop guys, what a sense of humour eh ?)... or he\she could have just been insane.

I was riding up north a few years ago on the old xj600, not too fast a bike but caught up to a harley (you know where this is going) anyway, I thought "Ill just sit behind him and cruz (he was on about 110-120) after a few minuits he noticed me there and started to pick up speed. At about 150-160 I thought "this munter is going to kill himself", he was draging all sorts of bits on the road making an impressive display. I should have just slowed down but I was alot younger then and for some strange reason he pissed me off so I nailed the poor old yamy past. Should have given him the finger tho, but didnt want some patched dudes turning up at my grandmothers house.

I'm not sure what you're getting at there, Roo.

Perhaps he only got the bike a week ago after getting his 6L.

In that case, of *course* he couldn't ride it very well. What do you expect? And he was probably 16, or summat. Not too likely to be laid back in his riding approach while he acquired control skills.

Shame on you for baiting him.

Yeah - the last two times I scraped myself up off the road.

Maybe It's just a boys thing that girls don't get?
Are men that stupid that they have to race everyone they see on a bike, even though they don't know how to ride?

and IF he just got his learners, he had not displayed L plate.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt and backed off.

Anywho, it's not like I was running over Ducklings.

I don't run over them. I just use them for target practise.

    Not stupid. Just insecure.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Yes possibly the fact that you were racing him caused him to give it a go.
