Got me a 'Kat' I ave

Damn it... just couldn't help myself, I have been watching trade me for a Clubmans bike to race along with the buckets, knowing fully bloody well I couldn't afford it.
But then the other night a 750 Katana poped up, bidding had started at $500 and there was a bit of interest... buy now was 2k.

Ummme'd and are'd all night, Kickaha asking me every bloody 2min's on MSN if I had brought it.
Anyway next morning I kinda mistakenly hit the buy now button, then bugger it I bumped the confirm button... ahhh well shits done now

It has 33,000k on the clock and hasn't been ridden for 5 years, hasn't been started in 18 months... ahh hell what kinda state will it be in.
kickaha said hell ride it up from Timaru... boy is keen on them Kats, to my suprise he even said he will ride pillion with me to get there... just as well he hasn't spoken with K14 lately or he'd be some what put off that idea.

So let the adventure start this w/e when we head off... BTW the owner droped $100 of the price so as I could regester it, ahhh who needs rego

You lucky sod ! looks like a damn good buy, do yourself a favour & check the one that Trevor Pearce has at the moment think hes wanting $6g for that one & its friggin rough comparing the two visually

But mmm whats the stipulations for pre82 ? coz that Kat is later than 82 check the wheels it looks 83-84ish

Easy... as long as it was in production before June 82 its elagable...
Kats started in 1980 so there... BTW the 19inch was history in 83 and whats wrong with a import... down on power... so what, wont be for long.
AND WHAT ARE YOU? SOME KINDA WINJA WANABE

I can see a Protest comming up. It looks cool but do you think it has the goods to get the better of the mighty CB250RS, the same HP but three times the weight. Bring it on gay boy....... er I mean...... sir....... er....... El Presedentay. Can ya still get 16" tyres? The vintage car club may have some.

haha... weight isent a prob, as I could never be as heavy as you and ya RS even If I was on to Kats as for power... it has less than the 500TC but then my 100cc MB keeps with ya RS man I cant wait till the next BEAR's now

Yeah I know... amazing, but that 500TC is too dear, nearly had a 650TC last week but that was an 83 so no go for pre82.

Yeah thats what I thought, and the 1100 has the black lower on the frount guard... were as the 750 dident.
But then remember this is an import bike so that could be the reason for the colour markings being the same as the 1100.

    pretty simple really

    Introduction:
There shall be two groups of Post Classic Road
Racing Machines. (a) “Period 72” which shall consist
of machines manufactured after January 1st 1963 and
    before October 30th 1972. (b) “Period 82” which will
consist of racing machines manufactured after the
closing date of the Period 1972 class and before
    December 31st 1982.

And the bit that applys here

    10.
    c. Later versions of the same model’s released (but
    not updated)

25-4-2 Wheel design may be of the wire spoke or alloy
construction. Wheel rims unless fitted as original
equipment shall be 17” minimum diameter.
Maximum width shall be 3.5” front and 5.00” rear.
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Not a particulary good photo, but she doesn't look too bad at all D.

Shame about the twigs for front forks though.

should be lighter than the guzzler

maybe less than the 500tc mmm power of a 1000 on boost, weight more than a 1000, and the performance of a 350 off boost think the Kat will be more consistant
