Short version? IIRC...

He went ditch surfing in borrowed leathers attempting to follow Motoracer or TS or somebody like that, a hot blonde ambulance driver turned up to sooth his fevered brow and much serious postitude was made regarding the sensibleness of having tail-end-charlies to look after the newbie riders.

You will note that since then, all KB rideouts have been carefully organised affairs with liability forms pre-signed and people on Goldwings with boxes of band-aids bringing up the rear.

Actually I wasn't trying to follow TS or MR but I was going a bit hard for my ability

I managed to ride into a ditch and make a nice little mess of my bike, luckily Quasi's trousers I had borrowed off him were not harmed in the process.

I doubt my bin has really made any difference to the way KB rides are organised, It was just another KB ride bin (one of two on that ride). If it has made a difference, I hope it is for the better.
