Looks like someone was having fun in the snow, looked like a DR650 even.

Those photos make it look so pretty. Good on you guys for getting out in it.
Then the rest of us can share your enjoyment (vicariously of course - you think we are mad too?).
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

[QUOTE=XF650;1107073]This afternoon timg (Transalp), a new biker on a F650 & myself (Freewind) had a crack at getting to Erewhon from Ashburton. Pic taken by Tim.
Cheers - a great day to be out in it. Sorry to hear you had a 'tip', done that in the past on the snow / ice. Great pic. Good on you for having a go! Cheers![]()
[QUOTE=NordieBoy;1107076]The buggers have cancelled it due to snow hiding the track.
Pussies.
G'day, tough with you having a new bike to wind out. Cheers -![]()
My bike has been syuck at work since thursday afternoon when the snow started. Until now that is.![]()
I've just been in to get it and had a lovely (but short) ride home.![]()

Most of the snow and ice has gone from the roads, and only two patches of compacted snow to cross.![]()
Time to ride
Yeah, did some work off road in the snow in my youth at about 5300ft in the St Mary's Range in N. Otago. XL 250 deep snow, lift it up and go bash plate surfing. Great fun until you hit a tiny creek! Arse over whatever. Those were the days, young silly and bullet proof. Great to see the fun still happens. Is the bigger DR just as good as the 250, or si it to heavy for the snow? Cheers.![]()

ummm....only done about 4 rides on the 400 here in Welliesbut it feels a tad heavier. Bukku torque of the 400 puts it anywhere I have taken the 250 yet. Got a bashplate on it too and it throws the water all over ya if you hit water at speed. If you gear the 250 right then it is more fun in the rough stuff (tussock, swampy bogs etc) and easier to throw around (and pull out). Taking the 400 up to Waiouru
this weekend for a play though. Should be a bit of snow around to drift her in. Hope to get some pics and will post em up. in the mean time, here's some more shots from the last trip. It's shit like this that keeps the blood flowing! Before you ask, no we didn't get anything..weather came in so we bunkered down o'night and got out first thing in the morn.
Sounds great! I know what you mean about the blood flowing! Thanks - cheers.
Are you lot thawing out yet? or has the ice set in?
