    New bike advice needed.

I am looking at purchasing a new KLX300. I have not owned a trailbike for nearly 20yrs and just want to get into gentle offroad riding What - if any alterations would people suggest to be made. e.g how important or useful are those solid hand guards???..also would it be advisable to replace the genuine plastics with cheaper non genuine stuff to try to help future resale???.Also the headlight - best to keep the original or get it replaced with a cheaper version..??. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.....

If you are bush bashing then I say yes get the solid hand guards.
I recently got back into offroad riding after 17 years and am having a blast on my KDX200, the KLX's seem pretty popular and you should have great fun on it! Good luck.
