Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead
Do not walk ahead as I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me as the path is narrow
In fact FU*K off and leave me alone
The distinctive 'sound' of a HD twin is simply a factor of its narrow angle V Twin with both rods sharing a single crank-pin. ie it's not magic or patentable becuse it is simple mechanics. Given equal capacity, dimensions and exhaust system an S&S engine will sound the same as a real HD engine..... Just like a Triumph Twin (360 deg crank) will sound different to a Honda Twin (180 degree)....
Your friend is a mouth breathing idiot and it alarms me that he would be allowed to fill a car with fuel or check my wifes oil... Lets hope he does not breed...

The crank rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the left side. While most engines have a crankpin for each piston, a Harley as only one crankpin, shared by both pistons. That means the pistons go up and down ALMOST together. Because of the V shape of the engine, one piston will run ahead of the other by the angle of the V, or 45 degrees. In this case, the rear one leads the front by 45 degrees of crankshaft rotation.
So here's the firing order.
Front Bang, rotate 315 degrees - Rear Bang, rotate 405 degrees - Front Bang, rotate 315 degrees, - Rear Bang, etc.

William S. Harley and brothers Arthur, William and Walter Davidson constructed an engine from scratch and redesigned the frame of the bicycle to make it stronger and more suitable for its new role in 1903. They produced 3 bikes in 1903 and 8 in 1904. 2003 was the 100th anniversay of the founding of Harley Davidson and they stated then that they were planning to produce 200,000 bikes per year from 2003. I don't know if they met that goal.
Next year the 105th anniversay will be celebrated.
HOG was established in 1983 - a factory sponsored club that now has over 400,000 members worldwide.
[QUOTE=pete376403;11117241935 The Japanese motorcycle industry is founded as a result of Harley-Davidson licensing blueprints, tools, dies and machinery to the Sankyo Company of Japan. The result is the Rikuo motorcycle[/QUOTE]
in fact it was a little earlier than this about 1928 or 29
