Have no excuse except to say it was one of those blonde moments!!! As I was lying on the ground I just couldn't believe I'd done it!!!!

Never mind about the ego too much, after 30 years the Missus has become quite adept at making sure it doesn't get out of hand....

Admittedly I to have done a similar thing. Got pinned under Gerty and our dog proceeded to lick me me silly. A horrible exprience I still have nightmares about to this very day

well (and she's guna kill me for this) Girlygirl didn't fall under the vtr when she was helping put the bike away one night (I was in the lounge drinking beer an she thought she'd help ) happy to report no harm to rider or bike

But I did it front of a cop, who, once he stopped laughing, helped me pick the bike up.

He only stopped me for a chat, said he was bored. Guess I made his day.

Big plus, no damage to bike or rider (except a little ding on the ego).

In one easy lesson...

Washed the bike this morning and cruised down to Albany to pick up a drill for my son-in-law - had a nice ride there and back and stopped in at a mate's workshop on the way back to let him know I wasn't with my company any more. Had a nice chat and left. So far, so good.

Decided to cruise on out to see Classic_Z and turned off onto Whangaparaoa Rd and preceeded out to his workshop. Also, so far, so good. I was feeling fine and idled into his workshop, pulled up behind a car off to one side, blipped the throttle to announce my arrival, (well, okay, just to hear the V-twin exhaust reverbrate through the shop...), switched off and proceeded to dismount... Guess who forgot to put the side stand down...?

It all happened in gentle slow motion and I found myself lying flat on my back in hysterics with the bike laying on my leg!!!!

Tim and a couple of mates who happened to be there, rushed over in bemused disbelief at what they'd just witnessed and picked the bike up and helped me to my feet. Not too much damage, just folded the footboard up over-centre requiring a tap with the plastic mallet and slightly bent the spotlight, easily straightened. Worst damage was to my ego! This sort of thing NEVER happens to me! It's always something you hear about some other twit doing!!!!

Still can't believe it!

Did something similar on one of my cb400 that I did up. Was extremely drunk and don't remember the ride on my friend's farm but remembered falling off and pissing myself laughing on the ground.

I decided I would never drop my bike cos I like em too much.
I had my blue and white GSX1400 before I traded her on the new black one.

I was on my own after a particularly hard ride from Clevedon to Kauiau. Was a great run, right in biking nirvarna and right in that Zen moment.

Pulled into kaiuau gas station in front of some motorists and a van full of kids coming off cloud nine after such an awesome run, gave the throttle a blip to announce my arrival, flicked the side stand out and step off to juice her up. It must have looked real cool till the moment I realised the side stand wasn't all the way out, also I had planted her on some oil. So, I hop off in a suave flourish and the next minute, 250kgs of bike come teetering towards me as the side stand flicks back up on the oil patch.

Not one to see my girl get some dings in her, with no thought to my own safety I throw the left leg under the bike, grab the bars and let her gently slide to the ground usingmy left left leg for the ramp.

Look up to see a van load of sprogs googling my precarious moment, adrenaline kicks in and up the bike comes, flick up the stand, pop the cap and start filling her like it was meant to happen.

We've all been there mate.
