    F800 Vs 990 SuperDuke

If you had to choose over a F800 or 990 SuperDuke for fun and the long (fun) trips. What would you choose and why?

Assuming that hyper speed is not the goal, and enjoying the trip to the destination is the number 1 goal.

Have you gone mad? Why would you want that ugly BMW?

I've told you a hundred times by now - get the damn Goldwing and get it over and done with. It's a Honda too - like your 20 other bikes.

    ---------------

    The 990 of course.

    ---------------

P.S: Slept in today - I'll go test ride that 990 you mentioned next Sat if the bloody weather holds.

Well as an armchair expert who has only gawked at both in a shop, I'd have to say the Super Duke.

    --- KTM SUPERDUKE 990 ---

    --- BMW F800 ---
    I mean, duh!

But if you are thinking like that, what about the KTM LC4 Super Moto Prestige?

But, if the question was "Is the F800 a good bike?", the answer is probably "yes".

There is a particular local person who wheelies and ride the tyres off one, and heaps praise upon it. If he says the F800 is a good bike, it's a good bike.

Anyway, as someone who has ridden neither of these bikes, and is only killing time till the motogp, I shall shut up.

Yeah, but there's distance involved, right? Doesn't the SuperDuke have some insanely small tank?

According to http://www.990superduke.com/ it is 18.5L.

It doesn't make insane horsepower, so it probably isn't thirsty. Maybe the old one was like that?

The current model has a larger tank as mentioned above......that WAS the only fault on the bike....

Only issue for touring would be who would put panniers on a Duke????

Before I scrolled down to read Felix's reply, I was going to answer the question with:
