A very long list of mitigating circumstances and numerous court appearances resulted in 6mnths disqualification, no fine and 200hrs of community service.



1. Speeding
2. Drunk Driving
3. No WOF
4. No REG
5. Driving whilst disqualified as well as driving whilst holding an inappropriate license
6. Running a red light
7. Careless

and almost failing to stop.

Not a great night, but as above a long list of mitigating circumstances and a good lawyer resulted in the dismissal of alot of the above and the getting off of most of it, kinda woke me up though!

that sux i dnt think u had a very good lawyer 200 hrs is quite a lot it sux doing 80...umm some advice next time if there is one say your in a position to pay a fine they like that better they will give you something like $4000 then wait a week and apply for community service to pay it off you will probably go to a different judge and they will give you like 60-70 hours community work insted of the 200 you got..yeah and dont let them choose where you do community work they give you the worst work instead go to a non profit orginisation eg: an old home and there very nice there and easy work and they give you cookies and cake if your nice..

Most stupid thing I've done? Early on, I read about how to bump start my bike, which is good as it has starting issues and (especially at the beginning) often I couldn't/can't start it by kicking it. So I ran up and down my driveway trying to bump start it. A couple of times it caught, then cut out.

So, knackered, I sprint down the driveway one more time, bike in first gear. Jump on side saddle, drop the clutch, engine fires, catches, and jerks me backwards causing me to grab a handful of throttle! Swerving left, narrowly make the small gap between letterbox and fence (still side-saddle), then the rear wheel spins up on the wet grass big time, catches on the footpath, and throws me off in a side-saddle high side (went over backwards). All happened in a blink of an eye. I remember thinking `let go of the throttle' but for some reason I couldn't. Probably because it was the only way I was still hanging on.

After I'd ascertained that there was no damage, I very happily went and bump started it again, this time without incident (yay! I can start the bloody thing!).

Oh yeh there was the big wheelstand than ended abruptly when the front landed.......turns out i left the disc lock on.

Two stupid things:

1. Rode like a bat outta hell all the way up to the mountains and back.....which was about 550 miles in just a shade over 5 hours. How I didnt get arrested by those crazy mountain cops or end up in the trees I'll never know. But it was damn fun!

2. Sold my bike to my friend in preperation for coming to NZ (yeah, Ill be there soon ladies) and had him ride it back to his place on some back roads with less traffic. BIG mistake. I shoulda rode it back for him so he could learn in the parking lot considering he hadnt been on a motorcycle since the MSF course 5 months earlier. He was following me and binned it at a corner going about 40 mph. Some big SUV was stopped coming the other way with its signal on and my friend got scared locked his front brake and low sided. I was looking in my rear view mirror and one second he was up....the next second he's down. All I could think was "Oh fuck!!". Good news was that the bike wasnt totalled and all he got was some nice road rash, destroyed gloves, scuffed up jacket and jeans, F'd up helmet, and a good bit of lost pride. Made me want to cry though seeing my baby (the bike) all F'd up and my friend lying on the pavement nursing his elbow and knee. He hadnt even made it home and it was his first bike. I could tell he was hurtin bad but he just got up, picked up the bike and refused all help. Everybody within sight ran over to help but I could tell all he wanted in the world was for them to fuck off because he was so embarassed. I woulda felt the same way. Why didnt I just ride it home for him????? Argh. The worst bit was I had to ride the bike over to the shop afterwards to get the repairs done and I could just feel how expensive it was gonna be. The rear brake and mounting bracket were cracked and bent in, the triple clamp was screwed up, the right indicator was snapped off, the right bar end was f'd up, the fairing was all scratched and the front fork was tweaked pretty good. There was also a small coolant leak. To make matters worse I think the zipper on his jacket scratched the tank when he slid forward so there is this nice big scratch running up the back of the tank. The whole thing just felt "off". I actually thoguht the frame might have been bent or something. Made me just want to cry.

This bike had a f***ed starter motor and a whole lot of compression I kicked it while still on the side stand and the dam thing decided to kick back and left me on the bonnet of the car next to me as all the movie goers came out of the theartre:slap:

I rode out to Bunnythorpe to meet a friend, got utterly lost, found Bunnythorpe but needed to consult my map to find her.
Yup, side stand not fully down, and I wound up gently pushed to the ground....

I think I was seen by a small child, but my ego ignored their nice call of 'are you all right?'.

Just thankful I read a while back how to pick up a bike easily.

when i first got my fxr150, as im so used to a Scooter i jump on the bike to learn to ride it , 30min later, it stopped, in the middle of the road, i jumped off, without thinking, push it to the side, and jump back on, trying to start it .. it wouldnt start, called the AA service, they couldnt help, as they pretty much no nothing, i was so pissed off, i just yelled, out "F!!!" of course people turned there heads, i rang a mate, who travel from wellington to Tawa to help, and looked at the bike and said "f!! your a Dork, " .. turn your Fuel Gage on!!!! lol

i was RED as hell, and hummm pay my mate $20 for gas lol

Borrowed my brothers bike to go to the bike shop to buy a new one. Lady pulled out in front of me at a round about and in my ignorance of how to ride and on a unfamiliar bike i high-sided it. LOL it all worked out well though, the ladys' husband paid $400 for it. Don't think the bike was worth $150

Mine, riding around to Mate's place on my ZX7R up the driveway and onto the backlawn, crowd of people on the deck watching me. I stop flick down the sidestand and try to dismount, the sidestand holds for 2 seconds long enough for me to think its going to hold its weight bloody wrong... bike sinks down on its side with me trying to push it up.. heavy Barstards those 7's my coolness factor sunk to 0 and I can still hear the laughter......

Just got my first GSXR and after 4 days went for a ride to Waihi from Paeroa with my mate on his ZXR...thinking I was Aaron Slight and tried to keep up with him forgetting that I didnt know how to corner that well went straight off the road and watched it peel all its fairings off in the metal... Mate came back and said 'WTF did you do that for?' Lol, I had no answer to that DOH
