And I've gone and done it again...

Okay, just bought another bike... and I know once you read this, you'll be saying "wrong forum!", but just had to do it in here first since it is a general rant (I promise to behave next time when I post about this!)

So, this arvo, I shanghaied Donor over to Chez gijoe1313's splendiferous and salubrious place of ill repute. I tricked him into giving me a hand to reorg the gargre work space (Daisy and Dandi's bits were all over the place! Ooer!)

And then we went to play on my new bike...

We spent some time, sorting it out - lube, coolant, etc. and then... I let Donor be the crash test dummy. Blardy hell! Smoke everywhere, loud as an elephant's fart! Blardy good!

The experience was worst than riding a bike for the first time! No brakes, incredible acceleration and nothing between us and abrasion therapy (ATGATT? )

Up to the cul-de-sac and back. We were laughing like maniacs and had grins all around. Donor's son (we call him "sausage") was whooping it up. He was worried we were going to get him to do it too!

As for my turn... I had waited for Donor to ride it a couple more times (wanted to see if it was going to blow up on him! )

And then he shoved me on it! The bastich! Had a sore hand, knee wasn't quite ride...but what the hell! I was wearing my scientific coat for this evaluation and the mandatory maori safety jandals (with holey socks)

Blasted off with much trepidation and never took the corner. Stopped, lifted bike around and revved it back. Was enjoying it and then realised no brakes! Managed to stop revs and slow down to pick my heart out of my mouth and realise how wonky the handlebars were (we didn't work out how to tighten them until after we finished! )

I fought against it, I swear I did... but GI had the perfect argument - "It'll be fun!"

I mean, what red blooded male can argue THAT??

Heh, he talked all the way home about how we better not break "his" bike!

    Final conclusion/evaluation

Well, make no mistake, these things will get you killed no prob. But the sheer fun, terror and pisstaking makes it all so worthwhile!

These are some of the more candid shots (actually to be candid, the whole thing was a hoot!) - Donor got chatting with a man walking his dog and said "Do I look stupid on this?" The reply?

"Only if I look as stupid if I get to have a go on it!"

I think awards went to sausage for being the only to get his knee down while Donor was riding pillion on the back!

Left a trail of oil marks and smoke all down the street. Neighbours will be loving me! And oh yeah...seems I have another one which needs to be TLCed before I have 'em both on the road.

    Mt Wellington here we come!

Pic1 : "I'm finished now, I'm packing up my toys and going home now y'hear!?"
Pic2 : That'll be two cheeseburger combos and some Ritalin thanks!
Pic3 : 'Chu want sum? 'Chu want sum of dis!?
    Pic4 : Easy rider
Pic5 : Rossi for the win
Pic6 : Cheesy grin for the win

Actually, I'll be needing to go down the whole one-piece leather ensemble for this! The ones I have can be wound up to 100kph Donor and I were scaring seven shades of shite out of ourselves when we were revving it along. Hardly blipped the throttle before we needed to let it off to slow down (no braaakeeeeeessssssss! )

Knee armour? I think triple-care upgrade to my health insurance as well!

And yes, no lid, no crash-gear. Blardy dumb. But you know what happens when boys will be boys!

I have already got my gear stashed aside for the next spanner night

These little things are a riot, and as soon as Justin tires of me living vicariously through his toys, I may need to talk nicely to SWMBO... errr... purely as a VERY early prezzie for Sausage

Not to worry, I have mad plans to install it on the back of my little ol'Hornet .. so when I go for a ride... I can ... go for a ride!?

Donor was asking me when I was going to bling it out with LEDs, carbon fibre... etc Didn't have the heart to tell him the thought had already crossed my mind!

It's so cute and small, I think I'll have one in the back of the cage. So whenever and where-ever I am, I can always go for a quick squirt on two wheels of madness!

Is that the new Chicken Wing Express??
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
