It shakes at idle, and you can feel some vibes through your feet when you first get on it.
After a while you don't notice.
After the 3rd twist the throttle power stand or throwing it through a set of flip flops or pulling a two finger rolling stoppie - you don't care.

Some folks can't get past it, doesn't bother me a jot. In fact it amuses me. Co-pilot seems to enjoy it.

I suppose that adds character to the bike which is always good!

The limit would be 12 people.

Since the Motu-Waikaremoana ride is currently leading the poll & no-one seems to have a problem with the 18/19th August for a date I shall go forth & organise this with another thread & a calendar entry.

    Cheers

I'm in 18/19th and more than hopeful that the HP will be back in better shape that ever in time for this - guess it's a case of third time lucky to actually make an Assault

Hey Clint, if that accom is limited to 12, how close is that pub, and is it an option with regards to the ride lay out that you are considering?

    I say go for it
But a suggestion as numbers are limited that you don't advertise the meeting place and time etc, as it may attract people that simply show up, which is normally ok, but due to the restrictions for accommodation it would need to be somewhat controlled
We can tell those that are doing the ride via email/PM

I'm in anyway and I would guess Ducatijim (lives in Reporoa) and BusaJim would be in, as would most of the riders on the other adventure assault trips

It's all gravel roads, the Motu is about as rugged as a 'road' gets before you call it a 4x4 track but it's been ridden on a Harley Road King & done by my sister on her 1st adv ride so it ain't too bad.

If it's been done on a Road King surely it can be done on a lil old honda.
I'm keen to do this but I wouldn't want to hold you guys up.

We are not 100% sure yet, maybe 75% sure. I will talk to Judi (after all she does own the BACK half of the bike!!) But I would like to see that back blocks of that part or NZ!!

I should mention that the aforementioned Road King has also been ridden across the Simpson Desert & apparently suffered some damage going through the Motu. If you've ridden heaps of gravel on the CBR you might be OK but as I said it's about as rough as a 'gravel road' can get before it starts getting called a '4wd track'

    Cheers
