Has it been VIN'ed at all?
WOF should be fine with the WB if it's not too noisey but if you're re-VINing then put the stocker back on for that.

Have a look at the LTNZ website, there's a section there somewhere with all the info on getting road reg'd.

    Cheers

If they have to re-vin get things like new brake pads and take along the packaging and the measurements of how much pad material there is.
Otherwise they will have to remove the pads and measure it themselves and you get charged for the time.
    Etc...

Go ask the guy/gal who does the re-vinning what is needed...

On the subject of TT-Rs, has anyone tried to open the speedo up (the analogue speedo, not the fancy digital one featured on JDM models)? The bulb in mine has blown, and I'm buggered if I can figure out how to get into it.

    open speedo

First remove all the front light gaurd. then remove two side bolts around speedo. remove wires from the spedo base Turn upside down remove two cir clips at base of speedo ( watch these as very small and love to go flying off) open up casing replace light then put back togeather. simple well sort of.

A ha! It was the circlips that had me! They seemed a permenant feature. I will try again next time I have the poor old thing in pieces.

Ha, good luck getting it on the road mate. Just watch the trail tyres on the tarmac, some interesting handling traits.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

Don't know if you have already seen this, but I have found it to be quite useful:

    http://www.ttr250.com/

I can't recommend the removal of the exhaust restrictor from the header as they suggest though; the previous owner of mine had done this, then apparently been surprised that the bike ran like shit afterwards. Took an hour of (free - thank you Consumer Guarantees Act) dyno time to re jet it and lean the mixture - not worth the effort unless going to aftermarket can.

    Cheers for the speedo advice,

    Alex
