    Thumbs up

Hell, another 'must do ride' experience to do before I die! Sounds great. Cheers.
When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flash weaken the plastic?

i like the idea of hiring a bike over there, sure makes the trip less hassle.

    Re hiring bikesin States

Hi, Just got back from 6 weeks. Took over 23 bikes in a container. Lot cheaper than hiring for 6 weeks. Average to hire with third Party and a $2000.00 excess for damage to bike is NZ$ 220.00 a day.
I get the applicible service and have new tyres and and just made
it back after 14000.ks on same tyres and a new filter and all oils changed at Sturgis which is about halfway through trip. I don't mind doing the miles on my bike, since thats why it was bought. If going for a shorter period of 3 weeks or so, hiring would be better option.
Purchasing Third Party and Comprehensive insurance for use while in States cost about N.Z $1000. Our NZ bikes get a lot of attention, not as fancy looking, more like to my mind, how a bike should look.
Back to USA next year, going in and out of Los Angeles and up coast to Canada deviating on way to ride around Crater Lake, the first of possibly 15 National and State Parks we will ride through.May have room for more on trip, will know after meeting 30 th Sept. Cheers Ratast
