Well that was a whole lot more scary than last time.
I think frozen mud gives more traction than wet mud
Good fun though, some offs, some scary moments.
After the Karapoti a few people had to get home so it was
just Mark and I that ended up having a go at the beach.
Heaps of fun, bit scary at first as the front tyre moves around
all the time but after a few minutes the pace started hotting up.
On the way back ( and after a few attempts at donuts ) we ended up
bumping into Mr Plod who was busy dealing with a bunch of people treating
the beach like a race track ( not us ..... at that point in time ).
Mark got talking to one of the officers and we discovered that its ok to
drive/ride on the beach from peka peka right up to wanganui.
Which begs the question ..
Do you think we can ride all the way up there on our bikes?
So if anybody has any info on if that would be possible, let us know
Here's a few pics of the ride today.
The 1st few are not to good, can't seem to get the camera to take good photos in low light.
....few more ...

Great day everyone, thanks for coming along
Jim
Out front of Paraparaumu and Waikanae the Kapiti District Council has bylaws prohibiting vehicles on the beach. North of there I have done most parts up to Himitangi and its reasonably easy riding with nice wide sandy beaches. Problem is the rivers like Otaki and Manawatu are so friggin big you've got to ride inland to cross a bridge then go back to the beach.
Cheers
Merv

Great pics, looks a way lot more slippery than last week. Probably just as well I stuck to walking today, I had just been for a wander up Canon's Point walkway when I saw you all. Would love to get the bike in there.
another great day - on a very slippery Pram Track.
Thanks for your companuy BusaJim, Pampa, GarryW, KSlider, BulaBill - another great day.
Re BusaJim and MarkS' comments earlier in this thread about the beach - I've ridden on an Adventure Ride organised by Central Districts in 2005 from Peka Peka to Te Horo and Hokio Beach to Foxton Beach. Twas a bit tricky crossing the stream at Hokio - where I went across was very deep - luckly not to have the beemer get lungs full of water![]()
Good morning out chaps, happy I was on the little XT I think
Few more pics over here -http://forum.bmwor.org.nz/index.php/topic,719.0.html

Hi all, another excellent ride on another perfect day with a very good bunch of guys, by the way thanks for all the help I thought u might appreciate the work out of lifting 200Kg a couple of times. No really, thanks I would've struggled to pick up the bike alone so it make it much more enjoyable.
Very nice photos (didn't post mines are all out-of-focus so I didn't post 'em) and good report Garry.
Cheers,
Pampa
