    New dakar?

I visited BMW motorbike dealers and asked a few questions about the new X-Challenge. They said it's not meant to be a replacement for the dakar. However, the dakar production will stop at the end of this year and will be superceeded by somthing new due out on 2008...?

Anybody heard anything about this? I've done a search and there's hardly anything on the web... maybe someone else has better luck?

One thing occurred to me though, a tweaked F800 parallel twin may be the choice for their new mid size adventure bike?

    later,
    Windboy.

Reading between the lines in what is floating around in the ether, looks to be be an F800GS coming and another model, similar to the current Dakar, that will use the same 800 twin but detuned to the equivalent capacity of the 650.

Found this pic awhile back, F800GS mock up. Looks like a tidier unit than the bigger beemers.

"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

According to my local Bavarian Money Waster dealer, that is exactly what is coming. Not exactly news, either - he told me this several months ago.
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.
