GN250 - replace pack rack with original?

I have a GN250 which i bought used - it already had a pack rack on it - its seen better days and looks a bit rusty now - just wondered where i can get a replacement rack thats like the original ones - small and unobtrusive - and doesnt stick up in the air?

Picture attached of what it looks like now... i dont want to just take it off as it may let water in and rust out the bit thats already there...

thanks in advance for any advice folks.

ventura make pack racks to fit almost every model of bike. the cost may be more than what you want to spend, though.

go to supercheap, and find a fluro yellow tin of wadding material. its called brite shine, or shine brite. [something like that!] its not a very big tin, maybe half a coke can, and double that around. bout $10, and lasts a life time. removes most rust and other scuffs, bugs, road grime etc. elbow grease is needed, btw.

I had a similar rack on my former SR. Initially I didnt want to use it so I pulled it off and taped up the holes but this annoyed me so I took the rack into an engineer (they mostly made office chairs but id imagine any similar place would do it). I got them to make up a U shaped bar to go into the existing holes, then I had it chromed. Using the pack rack as a model I didnt even need to give them measurements.

It worked really well, meant I could put the pack rack back on but still looked original when I wasnt using it.

Motorad in Vivian St, Wellington sorted me out with a good Givi top box to fit my GN. Better than pack rack in my opinion- lockable, detachable, and the bit it clips onto is level and black. It was $250 I think.

Looks like a Ventura you have there.
You should be able to get a grab bar or sports rack, take off the big pack frame and put the grab bar or smaller sports rack straight onto the L shaped brackets (black)
Beware they come in about 4 sizes (width) so you need to find out yours. Any bike shop should be able to help.

Then if you need to put a big pack on, you just swap it back on.

I have a Ventura system, with all 3 - pack rack, sports rack and grab rail, 2 minute job to swap them over.
