    How much fuel?

I will be riding my DL1000 V strom through some back country dirt roads in central Oz soon. The fuel stops are wide apart. I get 310kl out of a tank on the highway two up. What should I expect on a dirt road that restricts me to 70 to 90 kl per hr and for long stretches down below 40kl/hr. Its all flat going but some of it verty hard going. Lance

I can tell you that on the South Island Passes Ride I could still get 250 km out of a tank even in quite slow going. From memory I averaged over 15 km/l, dropping down to 14 km/l on the toughest sections.

advrider.com might have useful info, esp. the Asia/Oz/Kiwi land forum.
    Cheers,
