Or maybe my CB is so lightening-fast that some kind of super-doppler-effect prevented me from hearing the siren until he was a couple of metres away [/QUOTE]

I don't remember one of these.
    It's more like:
You're "cruisin" along, didn't think you were going significantly faster than traffic and all of a sudden you hear the siren. Check the mirrors and there's blue and red flashing lights. You think, "Nah... surely it's not me?!?" but you pull over to get out of the way, and the blardy red'n'blue flashing lights pull over too!!
Where did that cop come from? How did he get there?
Doesn't that sinking feeling feel like poo?

Luckily, this happened only three times in my life, but that was three times too many...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I've never been pulled over on the motorbike. Cos I'm a good girl.

But I've been through a couple of RBTs.

The look on the cop's face when you lift your dark visor and chirp a distinctly feminine sounding "hello!" is bloody priceless . . .
    Illuc ivi, illud feci.
