had a sit on a friends one today.... man, what a slice of heaven!!
very very comfy, with wide, powerful feeling bars.
didnt try the pegs, but they looked like theyd be comfy as well.... nice and wide...
i was shocked at how light it was... felt like itd be fun on the open road.
piss all room for luggage though!!

quite surprising how soft the seat was, looks rock hard. i think, if the virago ever fails me, thatd be the next step!

They be a fair bit heavier then a Virago :P

I dunno about you, but with such a wide sitting stance, I get a cold groin during the winter haha

Super comftable though.

Customize yours if you want to store stuff. I have a chrome lugguage rack the back of mine

What size?

I know there's a 250; I had a ride on the 750 (V4) - very nice. I just decided I didn't want a cruiser for every day, so it'll have to wait till I can afford several bikes ...

There are vtwin 250s, and various 750 versions. And I think MAYBE, but probably not right in this, you can get bigger engined ones in USA.

Some are chain and some are shaft driven.


Essentially a VFR engine chucked into a cruiser frame.

Model designation went something like v45 (750 ?) v65 (1100) ( edit they also did a V30 : 500 cc )

The 1100 model held some 1/4 mile records for quite a while IIRC.

I had a 700cc shaft drive, six speed Magna.

It was an excellent bike.

My wife used to ride it everywhere and I liked going with her on the pillion.

One major problem (cruiser fault) "Silly little tank"!

Minor problem, (cruisers again) "no center stand!"

Advantage (cruiser plus) is the low seat height and user friendliness of the bike.

Magnas are bloody good bikes. (IMHO) John.

dyers... i didnt notice much difference in wieght... found it easier to stand up due to being lower. liked the wide feel. i sunk about $1000 in the virago customising for top box and saddle bags... so id better get my moneys worth out of that one first!

Likewise here. The most obvious downside is the way the pipes point upward which seriously limits the luggage options. Benny is an engineering type though and he has created his own unique "panniers".

I enjoyed my 250 magna. The only bad things I could think of was the turning circle sucked at low speeds and it didn't have bugger all top end on the motorway. I was lucky If I could get it pass 100khr and I don't think I am a big guy at 5.8" and 80kilos. I think I'll get a sport bike next just for those reasons.
